  • "The property is decorated lovely and in the centre of scarbrough."

The cleaners had not cleaned properly, it was dusty eg. Dining table, some bedroom cabinets, top floor bath. Outside the rear of the property was disgusting. We could see a burnt couch, rubbish bins everywere on the fire escape entrance, the indian takeaway rear was disgusting too. The car park permit was not there. We had to pay parking until this was sorted out. There was no welcome basket at all, although the next day, one was left on the fire escape platform in the rain. The low celing beams caused a few bumps and bangs on our heads they are really low!!!! We didn't know this before booking. The property is not suitible for very young children with puschairs. You have to climb and carry the puschairs and children up three flights of stairs every time you enter and exit. The beds were really comftable, probably the best I have stayed in. The furniture was lovely too. The upstairs bedrooms- you entered through low beams and small triangle doors, you have to crouch to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Overall I found this a very disapointing stay and this was not what we expected. I have given it a fair rating, as the apartment had some lovely features.

  • "The apartment was tastefully furnished and very comfortable."

It was well equipped and the location was excellent, in the old town, close to the town and beach. We found the instructions to access the property and to park the car confusing. It is unclear, as it suggests that the key box is by the front door, not at the rear. We also assumed that the rear car park was the one we had a pass for, but we then had to drive to the ncp car park via a one way system. However we loved the flat and had a great holiday.

Thank you for the information regarding the parking and access instructions, we'll see if we can improve them. We are very pleased you had a great holiday and loved the apartment. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fantastic stay."

Owners have thought of everything to make the stay perfect. The beds are the best we have slept on. I can, without doubt, say that this flat is exquisite. The size of the apartment is immense. The style is beautiful as is the decor. We stayed with our three teenage boys and they were more than happy. Wifi was speedy too. I loved the quirkiness of the flat, as it dates back to 1790 I believe. The apartment was light and airy. Lots of extras and plenty of towels. I would rate this flat as 10/10. The carpark outside the rear of the flat was great for unloading, and the main NCP that the owners provided us with a free pass for was just at the rear of Matalan, just over the main road at the rear. Thank you for the most perfect stay.

Thank you for your fabulous comments, very much appreciated. Our teenage boys also find it very comfy! So glad you loved the flat as much as we do and had such a lovely time. Property Owner

  • "Great addition to the properties available to rent in Scarborough."

The flat was excellently appointed and in a great location given that the owners very wisely provide a parking permit for the nearby multi-story car park. Can be a little noisy on a Friday and Saturday night (humans) and every morning as the sun rises (seagulls), but that is part and parcel of the seaside. The key instructions should be updated to make it clear that the stairs referred to are at the back of the property and where exactly the back of the property is! Took a little searching in the dark. The owners should be made aware that there is a wet patch on the carpet outside the upstairs bathroom. This was there for the whole stay. It appeared to be from a leak in the roof as the ceiling paint was also flaking off. There was no rain whilst we stayed so maybe there is a pipe leaking somewhere.

Thank you for your review and for alerting us to the leak, we shall be looking into it as soon as possible. We hope you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

  • "Property is in a very noisy unappealing location unless you want to be able to pop to the shops or bars."

Parking is a pain unless you are back by 8pm to use the allocated car park. Restrictive head height on all upper level rooms. Generally well presented property but need refinement in some areas.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your parking issues. We appreciate parking in a busy holiday resort can be a challenge, therefore we tried to make it as convenient as possible for our guests by supplying prepaid NCP parking in adddition to the free overnight parking outside the flat if returning after 8pm. Once again, thank you very much for your feedback and we are looking into the points raised. Property Owner
