Nicely equipped with dishwasher, washing machine. 3 toilets and 3 showers. The accommodation is over 4 floors with steep narrow stairs. Personally greeted by Peter and shown around. Free parking. We did not use the living room as the decor did not appeal to us, and it had a slight foisty smell. We left the apartment cleaner than we found it.

Very close to the wonderful market. Shops, cafes, beach all only a few minutes walk away so we did not use the car the entire stay. Despite excellent location the area is quiet. Cottage is comfy and well equipped. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and TV, great for privacy for extended family and older friends. Pete the owner was really friendly and helpful with parking. Highly recommend, would definitely stay again. Things to note. Stairs not so good for some people, as there are a lot! Rail and bus are about 30 min away up a long hill.

It's also just a short walk to the beach. You are so central to everything you can walk everywhere. The property is 4 storey and has 3 bedrooms . Ground floor is a small sitting room that leads through to a kitchen/dinner. It also has a nice courtyard garden which is a bonus. It then has a bedroom on each of the next 3 floors. All have there own toilet and shower . The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The only down sides to this property are parking and due to its central location on a Friday and Saturday night we experienced alot of drunk and rowdy people coming past in the early hours.

Peter who owns the property is local should you encounter any issues but we have never had any issues whilst we have stayed. The cottage has everything that you should need. It's close to the market the town centre and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. The enclosed backyard is a godsend if you have dogs as you know they can not escape and you can relax with your family and pet. Personally can not fault the property we love it.

  • "Great contact with Pete, the owner, who went out of his way to help us while we were there."

The cottage is brilliantly located, near the High St and beaches & a stone’s throw away from the Public Market. The bedrooms are great and each has its own toilet/shower facilities; however, I do think the living space is quite small for 5 adults. This wasn’t a problem for us as there were only 3 in our party, but there wasn’t enough sofa space for 5 people and seating around the table would have been cosy. One other very important point to note is that because of its age, the cottage has a lot of quite steep stairs and for people with mobility issues, this would be very difficult; my elderly mum was only just able to manage - not sure whether there is an option to put in a hand rail, particularly on the turn in the stairs but would think carefully before booking this house if you have someone who’s mobility is limited. The yard was great for our small dog but think it could be made more appealing. Would definitely recommend Pete’s hosting and the cottage if you’re young/fit but perhaps not if you’re a bit more restricted in physical abilities.

The indoor market is on the corner and the main shopping area is the other side of the market. We took our border collie dog and she had a great time. The yard is totally secure so she could nip out whenever she needed and she loved it when we took her to the beach.

  • "Absolutely charming cottage in the Old Town part of beautiful Scarborough - just a few minutes to the beach and steps from the lovely, refurbished Market and the town centre (M&S just three minutes' walk away and the famous Cooplands is even closer)."

The house is set over 4 floors with a toilet/shower room for each of the three lovely bedrooms (with each having a TV as well) The back yard was perfect for a morning coffee in the sun and absolutely ideal for the dog as it's completely secure. It will be even lovelier once the plants/pots have matured. Peter, the host, was super friendly and really accommodating with our ever-changing arrival time. The house had everything we needed, the beds were comfy, it was spotlessly clean and the wifi pretty decent. Parking can be a little tricky - as it is in most town centres - particularly in the quaint parts - but we were never more than a minute's walk from the house to the car and Peter furnished us with a really useful parking permit. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be super central, close to the Castle and the South Bay and in a great, old cottage with oodles of charm.

The bedding, showers and kitchen area all very clean and a few essentials left for use. Very handy and large secure yard for dogs. Parking permit provided although parking is a bit limited, this wasn’t a problem for us and we expected this with its proximity to everything but Pete does his best to try and save a space as close as possible (he parks his vehicle and moves it for your arrival whenever he can). The sofas in the lounge have been changed and are okay and, yes, the staircase is narrow and winding so care is to be taken - it is an old house after all. Cosy, quirky, great location for everything and excellent host - thanks Pete - we hope to be back - maybe to try your other property a few doors away when it’s ready!

Very surprised to get a week in August but very glad we did. Met by Peter at the door (who had saved us a parking spot near the front door) and given a comprehensive run down on the property. Very obliging and couldn’t do enough for us including assurances that any problems would be sorted out immediately. Very comfortable, including changing the furniture following a bad review from a previous tenant, for which we got a bottle of bubbly and truffles which was very unexpected but much appreciated. Bedrooms on 3 floors which require a degree of agility but each has an en suite facility. Excellent holiday aided by brilliant weather and an excellent landlord. Highly recommended.

It is centrally located in Town Centre for all amenities - pubs, restaurants, cafes, south bay, amusement arcades, harbour, south cliff, 10-15 mins down hill walk from Scarborough train station; and within walking distance to north bay and Peasholm Park, we even walked around the marine drive to Scalby Mills which is a good long walk! Very close to indoor Public Market, which we used everyday. Owner of cottage (Peter) was lovely and very accommodating. Settees in living room were only let down - small, hard and uncomfortable but we would definitely book it again.

The front door opens straight into the small living room which has very uncomfortable furniture. This property really should come with a warning about the very very steep spiral stairs. The house is very well equipped (a washing line to use after the washer would be nice). The best part of this house is the three bedrooms all have a toilet and shower which saves loads of time on a morning or when you are getting ready to go out on a night time. The market is a few doors from the house which includes a lovely butchers, baker and fresh fruit and veg. The shops, pubs and beach are all within a five minute walk.
