"On arrival through the front door I had some reservations due to the hall and the stairs being very dark."
However, when we entered the appartment it was lovely. Furnished to a high standard, comfortable and plenty of room. The welcome pack was good. The back door was a blessing and we used it all the time. Parking excellent as it is early season but fear in the height of the summer it wouldn't be. A few extra mugs and other crockery would be good as only 3 mugs left but I did buy another white mug and left it there. I know it is for two adults but it would mean we wouldn't have to wash up as much and would use the dishwasher like we do at home. Situated in an area that's close to the North Bay and only 15mins into town. We have been coming to Scarborough since 1985 and will definately be coming back to North Bay Retreat.

Using the back entrance, it's just a short walk down the hill to The Hideout, a One Stop shop, Fish & Chips shop & Bella Rosa. Go up the road to the brew pub & down from there takes you to the beach to your right, Peasholm park to your left & outdoor theatre straight across!

The welcome pack was a really nice touch we will definitely stay here again the location is great for coastal walks and a stones throw from Peasholm Park and 20 min walk to the town centre and South Bay over the moon. The people next door did party from10pm until 7am from Saturday night not your fault. Thank you so much Dave and Andrea Anderson

"North Bay retreat was a wonderful stay with everything in the property excellent quality and very very cozy."
I felt like I needed a degree to operate the cooker and thermostat but Ben had provided manuals for all appliances so no excuse. It smelled lovely and fresh on entering and very clean which is a must for me. Very good value for money and would definitely return and recommend to others thank you Ben and cleaner. Only negative was there was no dishwasher tablets or wash tablets but not a problem I bought a cloth and washed by hand as I don't have a dishwasher at home.

"The apartment was perfect."
It is beautiful and every aspect is taking care off. Love the personal touch too. Great location too.
My only niggle is that maybe let people know that work is being done next door. The noise goes on from first thing in the morning to late at night some nights. It wouldn’t have made a difference to my booking as I love staying there but I would have changed some plans to stay out until the workmen had finished for the day.

"Wow, when you first walk in, it smells so fresh."
Always a good start. Modern feel, stylish decor, well presented. It feels like everything was catered for and thought about, even the text from the owner Ben, on the day of arrival to say we vould get in a couple of hours early.
Would definitely stay again and absolutely reccomend to anyone who is not sure.

"The property was very clean and well equipped with all basic Essentials - cleaning products ,bin bags, tin foil, t."
Bags, hand wash, T.roll, washing up liquid , salt n pepper, all appreciated when holidaying via public transport. The lounge seating was lovely n comfortable with large tv screen for cosy nights in. Shower good, we couldn’t turn temperature up much ,it appeared set, but it was warm enough for us . Bedroom was a good size with a comfy bed and lovely clean fresh white bedding. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. Having a back exit was ideal as steps down to basement a bit steep especially with suitcases. The guest book reflects on people’s lovely stays at NBRetreat which shows the thought and care the owner has put in to the apartment to ensure guests have a lovely holiday
Overall we enjoyed our stay, would definitely book again and hopefully come with a new little dog next time.

Kitchen well equipped and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Secure courtyard was safe for the pup and nice for us to sit outside. Ben, the owner obviously takes great pride in the property. Good location very close to the beach, Peasholm Park and several places to dine, shops a short walk and a cinema nearby.

Unsure about booking a basement apartment but the standard of the accommodation was so high we were blown away. The owners have put such a lot of thought into everything, quality furnishings and equipment. Nice touch with having Netflix set up on both tv's. Welcome pack much appreciated, bed, bowls and treats for the dog as well. Parking permits an added bonus.

And very grateful for the use of the back door, I don’t do stairs very well these days. Lovely modern touches like underfloor heating and the ceiling lighting, so stealing that idea. Close to everything we needed but far enough so no great crowds. And the added touch of a Walrus visiting at the same time was awesome.

The flat was very fantastic it has a lovely little yard nice big bedroom and the bed was very comfortable both bedroom and living room had a big tv with Amazon Netflix and Freeview the kitchen had everything you need and there were full jars of coffee tea and sugar and coffee pods for machine the welcome pack was fantastic we take our dog and she was pampered too dog bed bowls and treats you get a parking card so make sure you park on road not at the back were it’s say residents only has we were told by one resident that we were no allowed just two doors down is the cafe they do lovely food not far from beach 5 minutes walk only there for 3 nights but fantastic holiday and well worth the money well done Ben you made my anniversary the best
