  • "The property was everything we needed and in a great location."

The owner got in touch with us the day before we went to point out a potential problem which was very reassuring. This turned out to be no problem at all but showed how genuine she was. She was also on hand to sort out a minor issue whilst we were there, again reassuring to know. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Sail Lodge in the future.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review after your resent stay at Sail Lodge. With large holiday lets maintenance issues do crop up from time to time so I appreciated the fact that this didn't make a difference to your holiday. Sail Lodge is a great place to spend time with family and friends for that long awaited get-together and the prime location makes it easy to explore all Scarborough has to offer. • "We were very disappointed with Sail Lodge."

The cleanliness was not to a good standard, it looked like it had not had a deep clean for some time. There's fungus growing on the walls in the basement. The toilet seat is broken in the ground floor bedroom. The property is very run down and in need of some renovation for the price we paid.

Thank you for your review and let me start by saying I am so sorry that these issues have impacted your stay with us. We pride ourselves in offering great multi-generational family holiday properties so to hear that we have disappointed you is incredibly displeasing to us. I wish that you had contacted me during your week long stay and I would have dealt with these issues immediately. I'm available Monday to Friday 9-5pm and then we have an out of hours team who are available . Usually our guests have a wonderful time in Scarborough and it's incredibly important to us to ensure we and our properties play a major part in that so once again I am sorry . Thank you for bringing these issue to me attention it gives me a chance to get things dealt with and fixed before the next guest arrives. Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

  • "The house was great and had everything we needed for 20 people."

The parking was fine for five cars and once parked, we didn’t use our cars again until we left. Just read the permit information about zones to park in etc. A quick walk to one beach then a 20 minute walk to another, perfect for us. The facilities were excellent. A hot tub, washing machine & dryer, an iron & an ironing board, well resourced kitchen, toilet rolls & hand soap in bathrooms.

Thank for so much for taking the time to submit your review after your resent stay at Sail Lodge. The location is just perfect to explore all Scarborough has to offer and how great to be able to park up and not have to use your car for the rest of your stay! Waking up on a morning knowing that you can be at the beach in a few minutes is ideal and the walk into Scarborough town centre only take 5 minutes or so. We try and make out holiday let's as homely as possible so it's reassuring to hear that you had all the facilities you needed to have a wonderful time. Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

Almost every room has its own bathroom which was a huge benefit. The house is incredibly located- shops, beach, parks, all within walking distance. The hot tub was a favourite for the kids.

Hi Helen thanks for the review. Sounds like you all had a great time at Sail Lodge. You are quite right....incredible location, in fact guests tell us they park their car at the beginning of their holiday and don't have to use it again until they leave. Pleased the kids were happy with the hot tub - always a firm favourite. Kindest Regards, Julie Property Owner

We had a great time, the house was perfect for what we wanted with the 4levels, I would certainly recommend it for big families because of all the bedrooms and bathrooms which were ideal, the location was good just down the road is peasholm park and the open top bus to the South Bay which the kids loved,

Hi Mike, thanks you for taking the time to write a review we really appreciate it! You couldn't get a better location that Sail Lodge...that's for sure. Easy walking distance to everything which is one of the reasons we get returning guests all the time. I'd like to say thank you for the comment raised such as the downstairs bedroom light coming on with the en-suite light and the rooms with no wardrobe should have somewhere to hand your clothes and not just draws so that's something we can address easily. The open top bus is a great experience for the kids which takes you from the wonderful sandy beaches of North Bay to the more traditional seaside features of South Bay such as fun fair, donkey rides and countless fish and chip shops. Delighted you all had a great time. Best Wishes Julie Property Owner

  • "Sail Lodge is a large, spacious, clean, warm and comfortable holiday home with a welcoming feeling with easy access to local attractions including peasolm Park, north bay railway, Scarborough beach, arcades and hundreds of shops, bars, supermarkets etc all within walking distance The property consists of 9 comfortable bedrooms (most with tvs and storage ), 8 bathrooms, 2 lounge areas, large dining area with little breakfast bar, large kitchen and a separate utility area with garden areas and hot tub as an added bonus."

House is well equipped for a comfortable no hassle holiday, with a selection of dvds, cds, books and jigsaw puzzles provided buy the property owners. Kitchen has everything and more than you could ask for in a holiday home. Including washing machine, dryer and dishwasher We stayed here as a large family group. Second lounge area within the basement area was extremely cosy and comfortable perfect for family relaxation or as we used it.... for guys to chill in evenings watching sports and play xbox (OUR OWN). Negatives.. * A few Minor maintenance niks but nothing that would have negative effects on your holiday. * bedrooms without wardrobes would benefit from clothes rail or hooks to hang clothes. *Bedroom/ on suite on ground floor would Benefit from a separate light switches to operate the light in on suite separately from the bedroom light, go to toilet through night and wake up partner because room light goes on with toilet light( however we did just buy a battery operated light on day 2 to prevent this.) Additionally informative stickers on lights switches for sitting room, hallway, dining area & wall lights would possibly help people out. A little confusing at first until you figure them out. ** Although parking permits are provided with the property we had 2 vehicles and wasn't always easy to find space outside the house our within the permitted areas. Had to drive around block a couple of times on first couple of days to find a space. Maybe a permit to park in the lane at the back of the property would eliminate this ?.. Despite these very very minor Negatives we would all happily recommend this amazing property and without doubt would book again. We would like to say a huge thank you to all involved in this property and our booking including owners and agent who kept me updated with all important information we had to know. Thank you. all family members have informed me of how they enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend and without any doubts book again.

  • "Had a fantastic weekend at this lovely house."

It was really warm and welcoming, and everything was just as expected. We had an accident which required a repair which the owners were very fair about, and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a large family getaway.
