  • "Beautiful cottage in a great location."

Price was elevated because of Covid.

  • "The cottage was brilliant, roomy, warm and very very clean with everything we needed for a week away."

The beds were very comfortable and in the evening it was very quiet outside. Communication with the owners was very good and we wouldn't hesitate in rebooking this cottage for ourselves in the future.....Mick and Janet Comb.....

  • "Bramble Cottage is a lovely house, comfortable, clean and spacious."

The off road parking was a big bonus this time (last time we were battling for space on the narrow road!). Close to all the town amenities and well placed for getting out and about in Yorkshire. You can hear the steam trains and the church bells :) and visit the local castle. Recommend a visit to Rievaulx Abbey and nearby Byland Abbey and Helmsley Castle, also worth taking the (long) trip to Whitby on the steam train. A short drive to York park and ride makes getting into York centre very easy.

  • "The beds were very uncomfortable."

. The matris was terrible we all ended up in the morning with back ache also not a very good night. You also need to bring your own toilet paper, as there was not enough supplied and did not realise until the morning.

  • "Bramble Cottage is a few minutes walk from the centre of Pickering."

Despite being so close to Pickering it is quiet. Both inside the cottage and outside in the garden it is peaceful and relaxing. It is beautifully presented with all the amenities you need - the beds are comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen spotlessly clean, the two sitting rooms both have plenty of seating but also provide the opportunity for guests to watch different TV programmes or engage in different pastimes. The garden is a calm oasis with places to sit either in the sun or in the shade. Altogether a great holiday home. We all loved our week in Bramble Cottage and would highly recommend it.

  • "Absolute gem of a cottage with everything you could want, exceptionally clean."

Parking space in open garage was very much appreciated along with milk, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. This has been the top cottage we have stayed in and in such a lovely town. Food at the Bay Horse was very tasty and presented beautifully. Namaste Bengal was another fine restaurant. Bramble Cottage was a fantastic base for visits to Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and York to mention a few but loads more to do.

  • "The cottage had everything we needed, lots of space, comfortable bed and seating, spacious kitchen and bathroom."

We even had chance to sit out in the garden a couple of days to enjoy the sun. The private garage was very much appreciated. Handy to be in the centre of town.

  • "Lovely character cottage and great location close to town centre but no noise at all."

Plenty of space and a nice garden everything was provided for and lovely wood fire burners in both lounges. Only slight negative was plastic under sheet in main bed made it a little warm but only a minor thing really. Owner was very helpful with my queries too. Would go back again. The local area was great we did trips to Scarborough, Whitby, Dalby Forest and Castle Howard all good with the kids. It was a very welcome trip and place to stay after lockdown!

The wine and flowers were a nice welcome. Really handy for the shops, with lots of walks and places to cycle in the area.

  • "Parking is advertised as “on street “but most of street is double yellow lines and the few spaces available seemed permanently taken."

No problem for us but would not recommend for anyone with a mobility issue or young children.

  • "Location of cottage is fantastic; it’s very close to town centre shops/pubs/restaurants."

The town itself is peaceful and lovely to walk around. Places such as York, Scarborough, Whitby, Filey & Robin Hoods Bay all within a short drive away. The facilities at the cottage are great, including spacious living rooms and bedroom, and a nice garden area to sit out in. Parking is a bit of a pain and we were unable to park outside the property most days (though new to expect this before arrival). We managed to get parked in a nearby street, though that was also limited which could prove problematic if it’s busy.

  • "Great cottage, good location and homely."

A couple of snags :1. parking :would be better if there was an allocated space; 2. Would be nice if the bed in the master room was king size.

  • "Very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in excellent location."

Even though it was just off the centre of Pickering we found it to be very quiet. Perfect for exploring the Moors and seaside towns like Whitby and Scarborough. Yes parking could be an issue and we knew that before we went but we were able to park right outside the cottage every day bar one so I wouldn’t let that put you off at all. All in all we can highly recommend Bramble Cottage.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay in this lovely cottage."

The beds were comfy and it smelt so clean. We had everything we needed except for a hairdryer, we forgot ours. The garden is perfect and we enjoyed sitting out when the weather was nice. It is close to every shop you need. I loved upstairs downstairs which is a wool shop and antique/second hand shop upstairs. The secret garden cafe is great value for money. The Mind charity shop is way overpriced. The black swan was disappointing. Our favourite was Spice for you Indian, you get plenty and the butter chicken was gorgeous!

  • "Mr husband and I found this to be a very clean and comfortable cottage."

The bathroom is fine for two people but when we had a couple of friends staying overnight, it was slightly inconvenient to share the single bathroom. Just a downstairs toilet and washbasin would have helped a great deal. The kitchen is well equipped and the Belling Range is very easy to use. We would certainly recommend Bramble Cottage to friends and other visitors.

Pickering and the cottage is such a good central base to explore and visit the area. Including York, Scarborough, Robin Hood Bay and of course Whitby on the excellent steam train. Such lovely surrounding villages/towns too including Malton and Helmsley with Revaulx Abbey, Castle Howard and Dalby Forest, all a must to visit. Then to spend relaxing evenings back at Bramble Cottage which is a 2 minute walk to the main street. All in all a very enjoyable holiday, thankyou.
