Thank you for your feed back. We removed the instructions due to covid as recommended but left the cooker ones in the overhead cupboard near the cooker. Thank you for reminding us to put the folder back , which we now have. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Cosy Cottage."

It is beautifully decorated and clean . It was a longer walk to the centre than we thought . The armchair and sofa were not very comfortable, but other than that would recommend the cottage .

Thank you for your feed back. Since your stay we have replaced the chair. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at cosy cottage. Property Owner

  • "Just wanted to say that we thoroughly enjoyed the stay last week."

It was just the tonic we ordered. It was the location that attracted us the the cottage as it was central to York, Whitby and Scarborough, not to mention the beautiful summer house. Everything to the welcome basket was a lovely touch. If I had to make any improvements for future guests would be an additional light in the summer house and by the back door. It was a bit tricky when arriving back in the dark trying to open the door with the key. Thankfully the torches in our phone sufficed. Once again thank you our stay was delightful. All the best Joanne and Alberto.

Space at the back to park your car and a super Summer house in the garden. It's amazing how warm it was inside the Summer house with the Winter sun shining through the glass doors! We sat in there for a couple of hours with a glass of wine and no coats. A very relaxing weekend. Highly recommend. Thank you

One of our favourite places ❤️ Well equipped very clean on arrival, lovely food basket left for us, which was very welcoming. The only thing that we could not find , was a light when coming in from parking the car at night . Lucky I had brought my torch ,other than that we could not fault our stay . Visiting friends and family ❤️❤️❤️

  • "The road noise was intolerable, unable to sleep with window open."

If you are looking for a cosy break look elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you found the road noise to be an issue. The property does have secondary glazing and also a fan is provided if it is too warm so you would not need to open the window. We do not normally get any complaints about road noise but am sorry for any disturbance it caused during your stay. Property Owner

The cottage has everything you need and was very clean and tidy. We had the added bonus of the summer house which we used at the en£ of a busy day. It’s location is great to either go exploring in the Moors or go to visit the coast line. We would definitely recommend staying at Cosy Cottage and hope to return one day.

  • "Single bedroom very small and hot as windows do not open more suitable for a child than adult."

Thank you for your feedback. The owner has advised that the windows do open as they are opened during every changeover. The secondary glazing slides either way so you need to ensure the primary glazing only opens one way so you need to ensure they are both opening the same side or direction to open the windows but they have been checked and do open. We hope you had a lovely stay otherwise. Property Owner

I am pleased to hear you found the cottage easy to settle into and enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you were unable to find the teapot (the teapot is shaped like a dog) as it was in one of the cupboards with the plates and glasses and would have been happy to direct you where it was located if I had known. • "Although the weather forecast wasn't great, frosts in the morning in May didn't stop our stay in the cottage."

Pickering is an ideal place to stop, easy to drive to other places if needed, Scarborough, Whitby and Helmsley. The cottage is located on a main road so there is some traffic noise, which we got used to. However at the end of our stay, major roadworks were outside. It would seem that Pickering was doing road maintenance. We did several walks, Rosedale Abbey, it had been on Countryfile the weekend before, following a disused rail line, and the Hole of Horcom just outside Pickering. The kitchen is small but for a cottage you are not going to get great big islands. The only drawback for myself was that I kept banging my head on the light in the lounge, much to my wifes enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break away.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry for any inconvenience but it turns out the Hub was down when I arrived at the property on the Friday morning and workman advised it was an emergency call out to replace the wiring and main pole. This was all completed and removed the same day by 4pm. We do hope this hasn’t put you off visiting again and hope to see you again in the near future. Property Owner

We had a great stay and we will be back!!

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Cosy Cottage caters for up to three guests, meaning there would be adequate glasses to accommodate all three people with additional plastic tumbler glasses for children. Property Owner

  • "Cosy Cottage is very clean and beautifully decorated."

It is modern with an old fashioned feel to it. The garden and particularly the large summer house were definitely a plus as was the close proximity to all that Pickering has to offer. Railway, shops, pubs all easy walking distance. The bed was very comfortable and although it is on the main road we were not aware of too much traffic noise. On the downside, there were only 4 mugs provided ( purchased another 6) and we could have done with a few more plates/dishes so we did not have to wash up when the dishwasher was not full. Most importantly, the sofa and armchair were really uncomfortable and should be replaced!

Thank you for your feedback. Cosy Cottage caters for up to three guests, meaning there would have been adequate crockery & cutlery for you both. The sofa & chair in property have both recently been replaced. Property Owner

The concrete path to the rear door is very steep and could be a problem for the old and infirm. The living room furniture is old and uncomfortable and needs updating.

Thank you for your feedback. Cosy Cottage is advertised as being in a central location but as it has double glazing it has never been an issue for guests. There is a rail outside the front of the property for the safety of guests. The decor has been chosen to compliment the exteria of the property, we are sorry it's not to your taste. Property Owner

  • "The Cosy Cottage lives up to its name."

It really is cosy and lovely. We stayed there with our child who absolutely loved the garden and summer house. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and clean and to be honest the cottage was slightly bigger than we expected which was a pleasant surprise. Great location with a short walk to Pickering market place. Lots of lovely restaurants and pubs close by with The Sun Public House being a friendly local. The only thing we did find was that the hoover did not work very well and also we did have to clean the summer house upon arrival as this was pretty dirty but we soon had it cleaned up and was able to enjoy it. The summer house is a great addition to the house and the space which Cosy Cottage has. We would recommend this place to friends and family any day. Beautiful stay.

I can;t see really why I have paid out a booking fee to someone that doesn't appear to have done anything. NOT A COMPLAINT - I had to remove the ornament from the front door that was knocking in the wind and disturbed us in the night until I realised what it was and removed it. The cottage was delightful, and so warm and cosy. I was amazed how everything needed/required for an enjoyable stay fitted in.
