.luckily we had holidays there the previous year so we knew our way round because the light wasn't working and the yard was full of rubble and there was a ladder in the yard so it was difficult to get to the cottage without tripping up....When we got into the cottage the hall was full of workers tools and cement..There was no welcome pack and no Christmas decorations up.It was obvvious we wasnt expected it was extremely worrying and we didnt know what to do..when we managed to contact Hazel the caretaker she to the cottage straight away, full of apologies, and most things were sorted out that evening and completed the next day..She had been told that no one was arriving until Christmas week and our holiday was booked for 8th - 15th December!!!..The roof was having some much needed repairs because it was leaking and the rain was wetting the wall of the 2nd bedroom .That was the room I was sleeping in as well while my husband had the double bed in the main bedroom...we Always sleep in separate rooms due to his disability, so it was damp and badly marked in my bedroom while we stayed there..But it wasn't the caretakers fault and she was really nice, and we didn't let it spoil the holiday.. but I did come back with a nasty cough and cold..maybe because of the damp bedroom but maybe just coincidence..I still love the cottage though and would love to go back again one day, hopefully we no dramas to start our holiday though.
