The property

A charming, stone-built detached cottage, situated in a quiet location, five minutes' walk from the centre of the pretty market town of Pickering.

Retaining its original character, this traditional 200-year old property boasts wooden floors, stripped pine doors and beamed ceilings.

With a warm, welcoming and homely feel, this clean cottage makes the perfect Pickering holiday home for a family or friends in a child and pet-friendly environment.

Lovingly-furnished and decorated to a high standard, visitors will enjoy the cosy and comfortable rooms with a warming gas fire in the sitting room, as well as the well-equipped, fitted kitchen.

There are two restful bedrooms also on offer, a king-size double and a twin, ideal for adults or children.

Outside, the large, neat, enclosed garden comes complete with a lawn, decked area with furniture in a sunny spot with outdoor lighting, perfect for alfresco dining, as well as an outdoor snug, the "Hobbit Hole" with a bar, music and a dartboard.

With lovely shops, quaint tea rooms, excellent pubs and restaurants, trout fishing, famous train station and a castle; the town of Pickering has something to satisfy every taste.

The coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are also within easy reach and Dalby Forest is just 4.3 miles away.

For those interested in history and culture there is the annual Pickering War weekend during October each year and the stately homes of Duncombe Park, Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall waiting to be explored.
