The property

A few minutes’ walk brings you into the hustle and bustle of this popular town, complete with fishing ponds, a castle, museums and the famous steam railway terminal.

There is an excellent array of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and specialist shops, plus a weekly market along the main street.

The surrounding area is a walker's paradise, with numerous footpaths through the stunning scenery of the moors.

For golf enthusiasts, there are courses at both Kirkbymoorside and Malton, whilst nearby Flamingo Land offers fun for all the family.

There are a number of stately homes to be visited such as Castle Howard and Duncombe Park, as well as a selection of nearby equestrian centres.

With easy drives to the seaside resorts of Whitby and Scarborough and the magnificent city of York close by, this splendid property provides a wonderful base for a varied holiday.

This historic market town, with its full range of amenities and traditional shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, serves as the official gateway to the beautiful North York Moors National Park, home of the Heartbeat countryside. Enjoy a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, where Harry Potter fans can even explore some of the locations used in the filming of The Philosopher’s Stone! The Beck Isle Museum is also well worth a visit, with its unique collection of black and white photography and displays of rural life. Walkers will be spoilt for choice by the rolling hills, valleys, rivers and abundant wildlife of the North York Moors, whilst the city of York and the Heritage Coast are just half an hour’s drive away.
