Everything was to our liking, and as described in the property description, although we found the bed mattresses a little on the hard side, but realise this can be very subjective. The unexpected (to us) arrival of King Charles to Pickering on the Monday morning, was an added bonus. We were able to have a grandstand view of the King as he met and shook hands with the crowds as he walked from the train station and up the market place. The bonus of the convenient, free off-street parking, in the middle of Pickering was very much appreciated and was one of the reasons for selecting this property for our stay.

3years later it's actually worse the shower is a liability and shower door is very likely to fall on someone. Which is such a shame as the rest of the holiday was lovely but to dread having a shower in the morning is ridiculous!! We won't be back until the shower is finally replaced.

Many thanks for your feedback. Our cleaners alerted us to the fact that a runner was broken on the shower door after you had left which was promptly replaced before our next guests arrived. If you do choose to stay with us again please do not hesitate to contact us via either the telephone numbers we provide or the staff in the giftshop underneath the location of the flat. Other than those minor item had a great stay. Highly recommend.

Many thanks for your kind feedback. I am sorry that a dishcloth was not available, this is our error and one should have been provided. It is not necessary for guests to bring their own tea towels and these are also provided and I hope this was the case when you arrived. Unfortunately I noted that the owner has still not attended to the sash windows which I (and several other people) commented on in the Summer - they need new sashes - the windows are likely to pinch fingers when trying to open them so we spent a week without airing the flat. Also, on a domestic note, it would be useful to have larger plates for serving up dinner (or perhaps we are just greedy eaters!) and it would be useful to have some pirex dishes or similar for heating food in the microwave or cooking in the oven. We like cosy winter nights at home on holiday so I cook on holiday but perhaps other people don't!

Pickering is an interesting town to stay in and we enjoyed our stay. The only problem encountered with the apartment was opening and closing the old sash windows - the weights are not working on the sashes. We talked with the owner who is aware of the problem and is waiting for a time when the apartment is not occupied to remedy the problem. We would recommend Spire View as a good choice to stay and also the owner showed us Station View (the apartment next door to ours) which was slightly bigger and more modern that also looked to be an excellent place to stay. Also we were a bit concerned about parking - we were the only occupant of one the two apartments and we have quite a large estate Volvo car which was difficult to manoeuver in the small car park and it probably would have been even more difficult if the other parking space had been taken. Car park looks large in the picture in the property details but it was really small!!!
