  • "Beautiful cottage in good location."

Slightly difficult with mobility scooter due to steps to enter but we managed. Very cosy.

  • "Nice area. Easy to park once you look at the picture supplied in the cottage."

Nice bedrooms and bathroom. Can stand looking out the door at the steam engines. Doesn’t get much better than that.

What a beautifully located quiet little cottage, with parking right outside, comfy beds and sofa, perfect location for shops, pubs/cafes, and of course right next to the station, we could see the beautiful steam engines from our cottage, will definitely return to The Sidings

  • "It would be useful to have more pamphlets of local things to do available at the property."

Everything was pretty well as we expected, so no complaints and had an enjoyable holiday

  • "Location was excellent as we wanted to be by the steam railway for the gala, however a number of times our car got blocked in and we had to ask people from neighbouring properties to let us out when we wanted to go elsewhere."

(Not the fault of the property owner) The cottage is Quirky and has character but we missed little finishing touches like soap in the bathroom, a basics welcome pack, hairdryer and I never found the stairgate. Although I knew there was no WiFi or washing machine, I did miss the washing machine particularly as it was a wet week and we did get wet/muddy a number of times. Please bear this in mind when booking.

  • "The cottage is perfectly situated for the railway (literally over the road so you see and hear them all day)."

Quiet location with sun trap seating area to rear. Parking space handy with on street parking for additional cars nearby. Nicely furnished with everything we needed for the week, owners couldn't be me more helpful, and Pickering itself is a couple minutes walk away. Great stay and we'll be back again.

Cottage was nice although floorboards very creaky upstairs and the neighbours were not friendly which sometimes made it uncomfortable when sitting in garden

  • "Really enjoyed our holiday, the cottage is lovley and in a great location."

The only thing that could improve it the teenagers said was to have wifi.

  • "I found this cottage clean and tidy, but I think it needs a bit of love."

There were no “little extras” that we have had in previous cottages. I had to go out and buy a can opener as there wasn’t one that I could see.

Highly recommendable, especially for families, as there is the odd farm animal too.

  • "The whole booking experience was excellent and we were kept well-informed throughout."

We really enjoyed our stay at The Sidings. It was very comfortable, well located and quiet with a very short to Pickering High Street and just across the road from the NYMR.

  • "The holiday was fine."

. the booking with Sykes was frustrating.. 2 minutes after booking we realised it didn't have a washing machine . We rang Sykes to try quickly cancel and find somewhere else but the woman on the phone was rude and abrupt ..she wouldn't let us without charging a fee even though we'd only booked two minutes prior.. she was aggressive and unhelpful and inflamed a situation that I'm sure could have easily been talked about on a civilised way..If she spoke to my customers like that I'd sack her immediately irrespective of company booking policies..
