The cottage is attached to the owners property so assistance is on hand if required, the place was really well equipped , spotlessly clean and we would certainly consider going back there. A good point to note for people with limited walking or wheelchair use is that the walk into Pickering is very flat and has nice wide footpaths. There is nice off road parking at the cottage which is a bonus. In all a great place to stay .

  • "We had a brilliant holiday in Pickering."

Westgate Cottage was lovely and clean. The owners are next door and were helpful and friendly but not intrusive, which was perfect. The cottage is comfortable, modern and well equipped, with everything we needed. Parking is conveniently in an allocated space just outside the house. It is perfectly placed for a short walk into town and great drives to the country and coast. There are some good quality takeaways and cafes within walking distance. Overall, I would highly recommend this cottage.

The beds and seating were very comfortable. It was good to be able to park right in front of the cottage. The Wifi couldn't really cope with 3 people on their laptops / iPads at the same time but that wasn't a major problem for us. I never found out how to open the bathroom window. We were very happy with our stay here.

Cottage warm and inviting. Fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of pots and pans, all spotlessly clean, clean oven and microwave. I was as happy cooking here as in my own kitchen. The best holiday cottage we have ever rented.

  • "There are so many positives about staying in Westgate Cottage."

The location is ideal. The cottage is well furnished, clean and well equipped with almost anything you would need including a coffee pod machine and pods! The one small detail which we felt could have been provided was a small bistro table and chairs outside the door as there is no rear to the cottage. That said, it is advertised as having a communal garden area and we were blessed with exceptionally hot weather. There isn't a whole lot of space for outside seating due to accommodating parking spaces, so it is a compromise. We did feel though that a couple of folding chairs to enable us to sit out would have been the icing on the cake. This is a really lovely cottage and the owners are thoughtful and friendly.
