"Excellent cottage everything we needed was there."
The garden was a lovely space for our dog to run about in safely.Got to talk to Tim the gardener very friendly guy and knowledgeable about the area very helpful during the owners holiday absence. We will definitely book again thankyou.
"The cottage was lovely with everything you would need to have a wonderful and relaxing holiday."
"This was a lovely homely comfortable cottage in a beautiful village."
The photos don't do the property justice as it is so much more updated than the photos show. We had the full use of the owners garden which our dog enjoyed and the owner was very friendly and provided us with tea, coffee and milk when we arrived. We couldn't fault anything as it had everything we needed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
"Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet location."
It was home from home. The description in the advert needs updating. We read there was a DVD player but there wasn't . We had brought some DVD'S but couldn't watch them. Great base for exploring museums, castles etc. The gentleman who works on the property was very helpful and approachable. We had nice chats with him. He is a great asset, lovely guy.
"We loved our stay at Peggs cottage, the host and her two dogs were charming and made us and our dog "Sugar" more than welcome."
Nothing was too much trouble. The property was cosy and well equipped and sugar loved the garden space. We were that comfortable that we were happy not to venture out to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside. We would not hesitate to return should the opportunity present itself. Gary & Anne Hewitt, Birmingham.
"The cottage was wonderful, in a good location."

We found peg's cottage warm and comfortable the bed extremely comfortable, we feel the description should be amended as we found no dvds and only two books also there is no gas fire in the lounge , unfortunately our two labs didn't got on with tonia's

The cottage had everything you could need and was warm ,cosy and Spotless. Ideal for Rosie our dog with large area for her to roam. Will not hesitate to return when visiting that area again. Thankyou Tonia for a very pleasant holiday. October 21st to 28th 2022. Pat & Ian

All good here, lovely lady owner, trusting, beautiful little cottage, as was the village and surrounding area, would go back again tomorrow
"Lovely clean, cosy cottage, 5 minutes drive from Helmsley, lovely walks from the door of the cottage via a very quiet village, the large gardens were beautifully maintained, secure parking right outside the door, the owner has provided everything you could possibly need and was on hand if you had any questions."
"Lovely little cottage in a very quiet area."
Nice big tv and the wi-fi was excellent. Plenty of room for 2 people and a large dog. The owner is very friendly. There is also a huge grassy area outside the cottage. There are some lovely walks close by, with many nice places to visit within easy reach. If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place for you.
"Had a great week ,the cottage was very well equipped ."
Will be going back there if we go to this area again. Owner will give advise if requested without being in your way recommended .
"We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay at Peg's Cottage with our two dogs."
The owner is very friendly and accommodating. There are walks in the very quiet village, it's minutes from the lovely town of Helmsley (great fish & chips) and there is a farm shop/cafe a couple of miles away. Pockley is very well situated for the walks and attractions of the Yorkshire Moors
"Perfect for a couple and small dog."
Tonia the property owner was very welcoming to my wife and I and our aged terrier. This was from initial phone contact through to meeting and sharing local knowledge. This was particularly helpful as we are considering buying property in North Yorkshire. She added helpful little touches of a welcome pack of tea/milk/coffee plus things for the dog. The cottage was small but perfectly laid out and equipped to a high standard.
"Best dog friendly Skyes Cottage we have been to"
"Excellent little cottage, with all the facilities you need."
Was made to feel welcome Plenty of walking locally.
"We have stayed in several self-catering properties and Peg's Cottage is right up there as the best ever."
Location, general layout, ideal kitchen facilities all important factors for us and these were exceptional together with a welcoming host.
"Enjoyed our week at Pegs cottage."
Everything was comfortable, and enjoyed the walks with the dogs. The cottage gave us all we needed and we shall certainly return at some time. Chris and Reg. 08-15 April.
"Such a lovely cottage."
Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Slept really well and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Really appreciated that our dog was able to roam around the whole garden when the gates were closed and meet the owner's dogs. The gas log burner was really effective and quickly warmed up the whole place. Well equipped with crockery, cutlery but needed a new tin opener which we pointed out to the owner. We enjoyed some long walks with our dog along the country lanes.
"We enjoyed a few days break in a comfortable cottage in a wonderful location,"
"Plenty of safe space for dog to play."
We were very comfortable and everything needed was provided in the cottage .Bed was more comfortable than expected.I think a mattress topper has been added.
"Lovely cottage in fabulous location, owner very friendly and made us very welcome."
"Chipped crockery in kitchen."
The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever had left early because could not get a good night's sleep. You don't expect to pay £120 a night to sleep on substandard mattress
"It was a lovely cosy cottage in a nice location."
It was a good size cottage for two people. We particularly appreciated the size of the kitchen.
"Very nice, understanding."
pet friendly owners, and a nice quiet location on the edge of the village.

Just would like to say tonya( owner) was very friendly and very helpful nothing to much trouble) also would like to praise gardener he was very helpful and asked each day if everything was ok he also gave us good tips on places to visit and how to get there
"The cottage is lovely in beautiful surroundings."
The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. The only issue is the internet connection was extremely poor. Would definitely return .
"Very pleasant cottage highly recommended."
Everything you need. Owner seems very helpful ( although we never met ) Nice touch log burner. Only recommended new mattress & bigger tv as the one seams a good one but to small. Never the less would definitely recommend.
"The cottage was very cosy and comfortable with all the amenities that one would have at home."
The owner was very friendly .It is situated in an ideal position for exploring the area and coast. Very enjoyable few days.
"Lovely location, great garden area and felt very welcome."
Would appreciate a more comfortable couch & the mattress is due to be changed but that’s the only thing that stands out. Cottage was ideal for dogs as garden was all enclosed and the property was spotless.
"The property,it's internal ameneties, were fine and we really do hate to complain however - The Wifi for the period we were there was only available for a very, very short period and non existant for the remander."
Likewise the phone signal. The owner was and is aware of this but if any prospective customer have real needs in that direction this is not the place for you. This should be noted in the description.
"Very welcoming host, extremely dog friendly and lovely enclosed garden."
"Fantastic little cottage in a beautiful part of Yorkshire."
Great for a peaceful retreat and the dogs loved it too.
"Chilled relaxed holiday."
"Smashing little cottage on the edge of a quiet farming hamlet, excellent place for dogs with lots of walks nearby with next to no traffic to worry about."
A very friendly owner couldn't be nice. Sure to return loved it
We shall certainly return later this year.
"Pegs cottage is delightful, small cozy but fully equipped."
It was great to be able to use the orchard to play with the dog.
"Lovely cottage great area would definitely book again."
"Lovely well appointed cottage, one of the best we have stayed in."
"A small though very well presented and equipped cottage in a very good location."
Very small tv and unable to watch properly until we discovered that settee could be swung around on its castors.
"Absolutely lovely, everything you needed was provided."
Quite resort, but ideal if you have dogs. Tonia the owner very welcoming, as was Hattie her lovely dog
"Fantastic for my two dogs."
Owner very helpful .
"A lovely clean and well presented cottage in a great location ."
"Wonderful location with a really nice, considerate owner."
"Lovely cottage in good order."
Quiet and peaceful
"Small private garden in lower area adjacent property with table and chairs would I’m sure be appreciated by guests."
No vacuum cleaner so difficult to clean property before leaving. Larger TV I’m sure would be appreciated. WiFi signal poor but improved connection would help with holiday planning. The inclusion of the above points would further enhance what is a lovely little cottage.
"The cottage was lovely, Tonia made us very welcome & was on hand regarding any questions or needing any help."
Our two dogs loved having run of big garden, Tonia's dogs, Hettie & Bundle were forgiving when Bella stole their toys & Hari kept barking at them!. Two downsides, absolutely no internet access which I could have done with for local / general information, & poor mobile phone reception. Also cost of car parking in Helmsley which I know isn't Tonia's doing, charges apply even with a blue badge, that's down to Rydale council, but yes we would stay at Peg's cottage again , wish we could've brought it home with us!.
"Ideal venue for us."
We need ground floor only accommodation and this cottage suited admirably. Owner - who lived in adjacent property - made us most welcome. cottage located in beautiful countryside.
"Great gardens and location for a peaceful break"
"Cosy cottage in a quiet village, great location for a restful break."
The cottage is set on the edge of the moors with plenty of walking and beautiful scenery. Tonia was a great host and made us very welcome.
"This break was just fantastic."
The cottage was really cosy and so warm and had everything you could need and the owner even put Christmas decorations up and a small tree and presented us with a big bottle of Cava on arrival. The owner gave us advice on where to eat etc. We regularly bought fresh eggs from over the road which was a nice touch. It really is super peaceful there and I returned back home so relaxed. Would definitely recommend.
"Cosy, dog friendly cottage a few minutes from all facilities in Helmsley."
Plenty of walks from the village. Friendly host, recommended place to stay.
"Lovely and peaceful to recharge the batteries."
A very good. Location for site seeing or stay locally and enjoy the views and listen to the countryside sounds! Charming host with two great dogs.
"Very nice owner."
Lovely gas burning wood stove, just what we needed with the wet weather we had.
"Absolute perfection , cannot be beaten cant wait to return many thanks to Tonia , Hettie and bundle"
"An excellent cottage in a wonderful location, already recommended to my family for a stop over."
all in all an excellent break
"Excellent facilities and location to explore the area"
"No it was a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location."
The owner was friendly and helpful.we would love to return next year.
"Pegs cottagei is a little gem set in the most beautiful countryside."
The cottage itself is very compact ,the bedroom is quite small, but adequate ,and there is a very nice, well appointed kitchen. One of the main attractions is the the lovely garden, and particularly for us ,the enclosed area where our dogs could run about in safety. We would definitely return for another holiday.

Lying in a sheltered corner of Upper Ryedale, on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park, Helmsley is a prestigious market town with a spacious market square surrounded by houses, hotels and shops. The area is important historically - Helmsley has its own 12th century castle and English Heritage’s Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard are close by. There is excellent walking on the doorstep - indeed the Cleveland Way starts in Helmsley - and the surrounding North York Moors with their hidden dales and villages are pretty in all seasons. York is less than an hour's drive south, as is Scarborough, Whitby and the east coast, whilst Pickering and the beginning of the famous steam railway line (North Yorkshire Moors Railway) are a little over 20 minutes' drive.
