    Absolutely fab! Lovely place to stay, we had a wonderful time and all enjoyed ourselves. Would not hesitate to return. Good distance from York and other towns that you can travel around and see different places. The owner was great, very helpful.

This modern, detached log cabin is located on the edge of a peaceful complex, just three miles from the town of Pocklington.

Overlooking open fields, this Pocklington cottage is an ideal base for any group looking to explore the Yorkshire Wolds, or visit the wonderful nearby city of York.

Close to the tranquil Pocklington Canal, this Vale of York cottage provides bright accommodation, and is set entirely over the ground floor, making it comfortable for all generations.

There are two tasteful bedrooms, and an open plan living area with French doors that lead to a lawned garden with furniture; offering the perfect, peaceful spot for an afternoon's alfresco meal in the sun.

A short walk through the communal grounds brings you to the local pub, and half a mile from your cottage near Pocklington is a nature reserve, which all ages will enjoy.

The attractive market town of Pocklington is a short drive away, and offers independent shops, tea rooms and the renowned water gardens of Burnby Hall, plus the lodge provides ideal accommodation for anyone on a meditation course or retreat at the nearby Madhyamaka Kadampa Buddist Centre or for those that wish to visit the KP Golf Club or the Pocklington Arts Centre.

There are many beautiful walks in this area; take a stroll along the pretty canal where barn owls can regularly be spotted, or the more adventurous can take an unforgettable hike along the Wolds Way.

Be sure to visit the wonderful historic city of York, which is ten miles from your cottage near Pocklington.

York 13 miles.

The pretty little market town of Pocklington nestles at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the Vale of York. It is perhaps best known for Burnby Hall Gardens - 8 acres of gloriously beautiful gardens with two large lakes which are home to the National Collection of water lilies. There are several world famous attractions nearby - majestic Castle Howard, beautiful Sledmere House, and of course the historic city of York. The town boasts a leisure centre offering a wide range of sports, including swimming, a Civic Centre and the Pocklington Arts Centre, which shows various films and stages live shows throughout the year. Pocklington is also home to Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre, known worldwide for its meditation courses and retreats, plus the KP Golf Club is situated approx. 1 mile away and offers wedding and other event facilities, a stylish bar and a restaurant, as well as an 18 hole championship golf course. Just a few miles away is the village of Warter, which is where David Hockney produced his 'Bigger Trees Near Warter' painting. Nearby are various cycle ways including the North Sea Cycle Route and walkers will love either the long distance walks along the Wolds Way or one of the many more circular walks in the area for all abilities. For those who enjoy touring by car, Pocklington forms part of the Pocklington Round, a lovely scenic drive which takes in some of the area’s prettiest villages.
