  • "It was a bit cold in the kitchen; we couldn't use the radiator there because of a water leak."

However, we really enjoyed our short stay despite the rain. It would be great to come back sometime when the footpaths are a bit drier!

  • "A great week away."

We like this property, it’s got a good layout for us and good facilities overall for the price point. The new mattresses made a great difference compared to last year ( albeit harder than we’d have liked, but that’s a personal preference!). The only improvement that we’d like to see inside is a digital tv in the lounge so all the family can watch tv. There is a digital one in the master bedroom but the lounge still has an old skybox with no viewing card, and the TV is not digital so channels are very limited! Most holiday lets have better these days. The children’s play area is a bit neglected so could do with a tidy up. We hope to return as not withstanding the above, it’s a good property in a great location.

Glad you enjoyed your stay, we see you have booked again for next year (2024) we were getting more modern sky boxes but were let down, don't like sending working items (tv's) to the tip, We will replace them when faulty all main bedroomed tv's where replaced with smart ones, it is not long ago wi-fi was bad here so smart didn't work, but now we have fibre to house speeds are a lot better Have a good year and see you next August June & Alan Property Owner

  • "Bayview Cottage is spacious, tidy and we were appreciative of an efficient boiler."

We loved the location. The sitting room layout is not particularly cosy with the sofas all around the edge of the room. It took us a while to find the house book and information, in a recessed draw under the sitting room table. Information not brilliant, and looking a bit grubby. No instruction booklets for e.g. The induction hob, microwave. We are not used to the former, and had to ask one of the guests in Byre to assist. No house books to browse/read, limited games. We left a jigsaw. Two grouses: the mattress on the main bed is pretty awful ( and the bottom sheet was too small for it.) The frying pan was dirty, and it took me a while to clean it, fit for use. We loved the area, new to us, and may well return. Jeremy Boyes

GOOD NEWS ALL MATRESSES CHANGED, in all cottages sorry you found some fault with our cottage, we normally inspect after cleaners have left and would have spotted the frying pan, but we are away for our 50th wedding anniversary (even we need some time off.) If you had looked in the small cupboard above the hob you would have found the instruction books for all appliances, in a room with 3 doors furniture must be out of the way. during corvid we were told to remove all books, Hope you enjoyed the view Property Owner

It was as described, in a beautiful rural situation, not far from the Cinder Track and within view of Robin Hoods Bay. The cottage is very well equipped for cooking at home, and comfortable with lots of space. The hosts were lovely, friendly and very helpful. We would love to return with our family.
