“7 Night, Stay Couldn't Fault It- Very Helpful Owners”
Just came back from the Ambleside Lodge after a weeks stay. Lodge had everything we needed and enjoyed using the hot tub. We had a problem with our car battery and luckily the owners of the lodge was staying next door. They went out of their way to drive into a local town and get us a new battery and fitted it for us. Couldn't fault how helpful they were! The nearest pub was about a mile and a half away but there was no footpath so had to walk along the side of the road which was hard with the dog but that was our only criticism of the area.- Sophie H, August 2020
“The lodge is beautiful with the hot tub adding that little bit of luxury and great after a long day hiking in the dales.”
Would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice time.- Mr Mcdougall, February 2020
“The cleanliness and was very well equipped had everything we needed and more.”
The hamper and the wine was a lovely touch.- Mrs Gill, December 2019
Visited the lodge for a weekend break with fiancé and step son, absolutely amazing place! Lovely and clean, like home from home. Comfy beds, clean towels, plenty utensils available. Brilliant customer service, received a phone call from the owner on the day of travelling to check what time we would be arriving, letting me know how to working the heating, checked to see if I was aware of the £150 deposit they take on arrival. Gave me a contact number for the receptionist so I could contact them shortly before arriving to check someone would be there to hand the keys over. The only little niggle we had would be to suggest a little more light around the hot tub, especially in the winter. Would highly recommend this lodge and will be returning in the future.- A Holiday Lettings verified reviewer, November 2019
“Absolutely amazing weekend break to chill out, it was like home from home!”
Everything was perfect, customer service from the morning of my travel I received a phone. The only thing we would suggest is a little lighting around the hot tub, especially in the winter due to decking being a little slippery but it did not dampen the weekend at all. Will definitely be returning in the near future and recommending it to people.- Miss Parsons, November 2019
Not a thing out of place. Gorgeous views thank you- Mr Dick, November 2019
“Lovely stay ,lovely site , only negative is that i wasn't awear that i would be required too pay £150 there and then deposit for the week .”
I had too ask my friends for this which they paid the office staff . 24 hours later still waiting for this money toobe put back into the bank? . I couldn't see any mention of a holding deposit on your website or through the booking process.- Ms Roberts, October 2019
From before we arrived the customer service was outstanding!! We would be arriving a little later but were told where to find keys, how to work barrier, where to find the lodge and how to contact anyone if we needed any support. Nearer our arrival I recurved a phonecall from a very happy very peasant gentleman asking if we had arrived if we had been given instructions on keys etc , how to work the heating if needs be and if we needed anything throughout our stay to just give him a phone on that number. So before we had even arrived at the lodge for us the customer service was absolutely top notch! Customer service continued throughout our stay with a very happy, friendly and enthusiastic genetleman visiting us on a morning to check on the hot tub, asking about our stay, making sure everything was okay. He was very knowledgable about the area giving us advice on parking during our day trip to York and even helped us get rid of a wasp who had decided to join us inside the lodge for breakfast. The lodge itself was beautiful! Everything was very clean and laid out ready for us. All utensils, cutlery, plates etc included and towels rolled up on every bed ready to be used. The showers were lovely after a long day cycling. The table was laid out ready for a family to sit down to an evening meal and there was even games and dvds included if you were to bring children along with you. We couldn’t get the WiFi to work but we didn’t really need it and when we did I just used my phone anyway. I’m sure if someone who was staying did need help though they would get assistance with it. The hot tub was amazing! There’s settings to turn the jets on high which was a god send after 45 miles cycling up extremely tough hills. Even though it rained on one of the nights we still spent time on the hot tub chilling and then spent a further two nights laid in the hot tub watching the stars. The location is outstanding. Very peaceful away from our normal huddle and bustle life’s where we never stop and are constantly around noise and people. There was silence and only every so often the sound of a random car. To be able to just relax and watch the stars above and enjoy the surroundings in the beautiful area made our trip even more special. The only downside was checking out. We were a little confused on how to do so. We arrived at the office key in hand and no one there to checkout with. We was a woman there but she also wasn’t sure on what was to happen. She took the key from us then just continued with what she was doing there was no saying who we were what lodge we were or anything. Which left us feeling like we hadn’t actually checked out? From start to just about finish our stay was outstanding the lodge and the customer service means we will return and we will most definitely recommend to friends and family.- V6669ZUnatalies, September 2019
“The Ambleside lodge was fantastic, we have stayed in many lodges and this one was as good as any we have stayed in.”
Very clean with everything we needed for a great stay. Very dog friendly which is important to us. The on site team were all very friendly and would not hesitate to recommend the site or this lodge to anybody. All good thanks.- Mr Milner, September 2019
“From before we arrived the customer service was above and beyond, recieved a text to ask when we would be arriving and were told there would be no one on site so where to find keys and how to find our lodge.”
The gentleman who came round on a morning to check the hot tub was the friendliest happiest gentleman you could ask for and was full of knowledge of the local area! The only thing that let us down was checking out. There didn’t seem to be anyone in the office and the woman who was there didn’t really know what to do either so we were left not feeling like we had checked out at all.- Mrs Storey, September 2019
“A great lodge the he owners were very helpful and the people on the site where friendly.”
We enjoyed are stay here- Mr Wilson, August 2019
“Ambleside Lodge was a lovely surprise it was extremely comfortable in every way dog friendly and you would never have known dogs had been there.”
The hot tub was an added bonus. Would recommend this lodge- Mrs Marshall, June 2019
“Improve property address on the listing, apart from that everything was perfect”- Mr Field, April 2019
“Just spent 4 nights with in the lovely Ambleside lodge and wasn’t disappointed.”
Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Plenty of storage space and loved the comfy arm chair. Hot tub a great extra. Owners lovely and sorted free WiFi for our visit. Definitely recommend and would book again. Thanks Helen and Carl for a lovely stay.- Mrs Hales, April 2019
“We booked this log cabin for my partners birthday and what a beautiful place!”
Cabin was gorgeous and the surroundings were stunning. We didnt want to leave we had such an amazing weekend! We are certainly planning on going back. Thank you for a lovely stay! Staff were very friendly aswell.- Mr Symons, March 2019
“The accommodation was very clean, comfortable & well equipped.”
The hot tub was superb. The park itself was clean and quiet, within a short distance of local attractions. It was a lovely weekend away Thank you- Mrs Crosby, March 2019
“A lovely place and staff, I would recommend the site to anyone, it was just the right place to relax”- Mr Wyld, March 2019
“I had a fabulous time at ambleside lodge in Malton I booked here as it had everything around the area and it was dog friendly so I could bring my two little dogs.”
The lodge was beautiful and I was surprised it already had everything we needed when we got there tea, coffee, sugar etc. It was very clean and a lot bigger than we thought it would be from looking at the photographs. The staff were very helpful the owner Carl called us early on our arrival day to explain how to work the heating and things, and then the reception called later on as they realised we were arriving late to say they had put our key in a safe place so fab communication and service from everyone. The hot tub was amazing I could of lived in there so relaxing in such a peaceful environment. The whole lodge park was clean and so quiet and peaceful. The guy who comes round to clean the hot tubs (I think his name was Steve) works very hard and is very friendly he was telling us about the area and recommending places for us to go visit, he is local and knows a lot about the area. The location of the park is ideal around 40 mins from York and 10 mins from Malton with some beautiful little villages around the area too. Would highly recommend a visit to Castle Howard if you stay here as the grounds are stunning and we look forward to coming back when the rose gardens are at bloom to see it at its finest. We would highly recommend the lodge and park and the only small suggestion I have is for a small washing line to go outside the lodge to dry the washing as if we were staying longer than the week it would have been a big help. Thank you to everyone there for making us feel welcome in your beautiful part of the world.- Miss Jones, February 2019
“Beautiful and spacious lodge, with hot tub.”
Would recommend it- Mrs Clayton, February 2019
“We have had the most perfect Christmas week away at Ambleside Lodge.”
After calling the day before to see if we could get in earlier, Carl (the owner) was prompt in replying to me to confirm we could get in a couple of hours earlier, which was a massive help. The lodge was clean and cosy, with some Christmas decorations in place for us. You wouldn't have thought it was a dog friendly lodge, you would have never thought a pooch had been in there, however ours loved it and made themselves right at home! We have been very impressed at how well stocked the lodge was with plenty of cutelry and dishes for us. Including plastic plates and cups for our little one. The hot tub was an added extra luxury, which was well maintained and checked daily by a very helpful gentleman on site. The park itself was quiet and clean. Our neighbours were very friendly. We were close enough to Malton which has a vast array of supermarkets, very handy! We have been very impressed with our stay, so much so we are already looking at booking to come back!- Mrs Norris, December 2018
“This was our first experience of using Sykes cottages and we were thoroughly impressed.”
The booking was simple and the listing was 100% accurate. We chose Malton as we were visiting relatives in Scarborough. The park was safe, secure, friendly and very homely. We were met by Steve who showed us how to work the Hot tub and ensured we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. The lodge was clean, warm and surpassed our expectations. The added touch of the Christmas decorations was lovely!- Mr Price, December 2018
“A lovely, well-equipped modern lodge on a clean and well-maintained site.”
Excellent hot tub and decking area. Great location with very good pubs locally, and within easy reach of York, market towns such as Pickering and Helmsley, and the beautiful east coast. Highly recommended!- Mr Winter, October 2018
“Had an amazing time.”
Only down side was dish washer was still full and my children Found some old doughnuts in their bedroom. We found that it could of done with just one bin as it didn't have any. But over all we had an amazing Time and would love to go back.- Miss Elliott, August 2018
“Not what expected we had a wheelchair and no paths once you get outside of gates ...”
Not what expected we had a wheelchair and no paths once you get outside of gates lodge and it’s owners bend over backwards to make everything lovely but the managers girlfriend did not care at all about customers once you arrive it’s shocking- Mrs Hudson, August 2018
