  • “Stating that the cottage is within walking distance of Fountains Abbey is misleading and unnecessary.”

    It is at best a long hike and took 15 minutes by car. Saying

    It is at best a long hike and took 15 minutes by car. Saying it is a short drive away would be better. We can understand why the cottage's position on the main road is not mentioned but this is a bit deceitful. Getting the car in and out was treacherous. Other than that the cottage was extremely comfortable and a good base from which to explore the area.

The property

In the historic City of Ripon, you will discover the delightful Tree Top Cottage, a tasteful holiday retreat, close to the city centre.

Spotlights grace the ceiling, and French doors open out to the lawned garden and outdoor seating area, so you can stroll into the fresh air on a sunny day.

A utility with a washing machine and tumble dryer completes the ground floor. Two en-suite bedrooms promise a good night's sleep; the main bedroom with its king size bed together with an ensuite bathroom overlooks the tree lined garden.

The second bedroom can be configured as a twin or king size bed as required.This bedroom also has its own en-suite shower room.

The property also benefits from a double sofa bed in the lounge.

The famous Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are within walking distance along the banks of the River Skell, just a few miles to the popular Lightwater Valley Theme Park.

The historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens are also close by.

If you do feel the need to get in the car and explore, Ripon is ideal for touring both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, not forgetting Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.
