  • "Thames Cottage was a home from home, the garden was lovely to sit in the evening and the dog enjoyed having outside space."

The cottage was a good base for visiting the area and local facilities, notably, the shop and bakery were lovely.

  • "Lovely quiet location."

Nice and clean. A little bit of TLC needed in the bathroom but the shower is certainly hot and powerful. If need to stay in the area again would consider Thames Cottage.

  • "Overall a relaxing and comfortable stay."

Well located for exploring the area. Clean & tidy on arrival. Bathroom a bit small. Switching bath for shower cubicle would be a great improvement but otherwise no complaints and would consider re-booking. Thanks

  • "We enjoyed our stay at this cosy, comfortable and well placed cottage."

It is well equipped and the rear, enclosed garden makes for an ideal retreat after a good days exploring of this lovely part of the country.

  • "Pretty looking cottage in a lovely quiet village, a good base for access to days out and we enjoyed our time in the area."

Had a few issues on arrival, however on contacting the owner they were very obliging. Positives: Comfy bed and sofas, nice furniture, fluffy towels & location. Negatives: Property would benefit from a deep clean, a little tlc and checking more thoroughly. DG, new bathroom and bedding as well as blackout curtains to the master as the current ones although they look nice don’t make any difference when drawn. Make a nice cottage a great cottage!

  • "First of all let me say this was excellent value for money."

A lovely cottage in a really nice village. Could do with a little attention though to paintwork, heating element may need replacing in tumble drier, flush on toilet sticks and certainly some comfier mattresses and the garden needs the dog dirt cleaning before a new occupant (I cleaned up 5 lots on arrival). I wouldn't put anyone off staying here though for the price as long as you make allowances. I think with some TLC the owners could charge a higher rate and I'd still come back.

  • "This could do with a good spring clean."

Adequate superficially clean. Lots of cobwebs, dog dirt in garden, tired bedding and table mats/cloth. We would return as this is a great location especially with a dog but have to say this cottage could be fantastic with a little more tlc and attention to detail and updates.

  • "I would have been really helpful to have a light outside the front of the property, as we arrived in the dark and the village doesn't have many street lights, so it was difficult to see the numbers/names on the properties."

We had 2 power cuts whilst there (the whole village was out due to storm), luckily we had taken a torch and we found 3 small candles in a drawer, but then we had another cut the next night we didn't have any candles left so were relying on only our torch for 4 and half hours. Also would have been nice to have a small bag of logs and kindling for the fire on arrival. It took as a few days to find a supply as the village shop had run out. We needed it for heat when the gas radiators were off because of the power cuts. Otherwise the cottage was perfect for us and our doggo (although he rejected the treats left by the owner for some reason)!

Really comfortable bed, kitchen quite basic but it had everything we needed. Very small bathroom, but again, cosy for a couple

  • "The cottage is both comfortable and pleasantly decorated."

The kitchen diner is a good size, and we enjoyed Family meals together. In the kitchen, a picture on the wall says "in this house we dance in the kitchen" and we did we brought our mobile speakers and the children and adults danced together. Ruby the dog enjoyed being able to be let out into the garden. Although a colder time of the year, we sat out with candles on the patio with our Halloween lanterns and fairy lights and the children ran about outside. Main bedroom is comfortable and stylish. In the single bedroom for children we were able to bring our travel bed for the three year old to share a room with his older sister; which they both enjoyed. We all enjoyed sitting in the lounge with the Fire. Thank you for our lovely stay in your cottage

Lovey quiet location. The only down side was the village pub wasn’t serving food whilst we were staying so we had to eat in more often than we’d planned. Great cottage set up for dogs.
