Popular with visitors to the area is the ancient market town of Knaresborough which is only a five mile drive away from this cosy cottage.

Other day trips which are available include Mother Shipton's Cave, Bolton Abbey, the House in the Rock, Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe in England, which dates back to 1720, and the Courthouse Museum.

With the Yorkshire Dales within a thirty minutes’ drive west and York a similar drive east, this makes for a superb base to explore Harrogate and its outstanding surrounding area!

Once one of the most fashionable spas in Europe, the town continues to draw visitors from far and wide to its excellent shopping and restaurants and renowned conference centre. The countryside around Harrogate is outstandingly beautiful with Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales to the west and the North York Moors to the east. Close by there are many major attractions including Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (National Trust) and the historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens.
