  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Lodge, it exceeded our expectations and was fantastic for our dog."

Very peaceful and great location with the hotel/pub only 200 yards away. We will probably book again in the future as of the 4 lodges on site we thought it had the best location/outlook. Only minor criticism was some cleaning spray left on the kitchen unit doors, which we wiped off and the kitchen tap was difficult to control (went from a dribble to a gush very quickly).

  • "Lovely lodge in stunning quiet location."

Loved it that it is so close to the sea and the Cleveland Way. Just a very special place to be. My doggo loved it too.

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful area and a very comfortable, clean place to stay."

Beautiful area, very steep walk down and back up to the beach but the views made up up for our lack of fitness!! Our only complaint would be that we didn't stay for long enough.

Many thanks for your positive feedback. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was extremely clean and a pleasant surprise of a presentation pack on arrival."

All appliances were easy to use and the setting of the lodge was very peaceful. Just what was required.

Many thanks for your kind review. We hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "A comfortable clean well designed lodge in a good location."

Generally well equipped. Plenty of open space between lodges, very quiet, and worked well with the dog. A vacuum cleaner would have been helpful. Only niggle was the absence of a proper information pack. A pile of manufacturers instructions were left but who wants to wade through those on holiday? Otherwise very good.

Many thanks for your kind review and feedback. We will take it on board regarding information pack. All lodges now have a vacuum. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful Runswick Bay."

Need to be reasonably fit for the walk up the hill and cliff top walks. The small site was perfect, vey quite, very dark, very peaceful. Pleased we took the torch for the evening walk/visit to the pub.

  • "Lovely accommodation in a lovely location."

The treat box was a nice touch. We read a comment to say the WiFi was rubbish, we had no problems with 3 different devices used at anyone time. We would love to return.

  • "Would definitely recommend this holiday Lodge."

The only negative is that the Lodge is advertised with wifi but the signal is so weak as to be useless.

Thank you for your feedback. Customer comments are very important to us. The WIFI is good in all four lodges and is suitable for all uses. Property Owner

  • "So close to a fabulous beach and the Cumbrian Way with awesome walks."

A very special place to be, quiet and just lovely. Lots of other places nearby to visit, especially Whitby. Fantastic that the owner left us a residents parking card for parking in the seaside towns. Very thoughtful.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had a great holiday. Parking is free at the lodges. If you go to Whitby, you need to have a free parking pass to park on the streets. This is available from all shops in Whitby. All car parks have charges as normal Once again, thanks for your comments. We hope you visit again soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely early holiday in chestnut lodge short walk to the bus stop."

We used the bus to get to Whitby and Scarborough The road down to the beautiful beach was very steep but there is a car park half way down which we found to be a great help one problem with that was the paying machine only took coins ( no credit cards ) Would certainly recommend this lodge

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday and the lodge was lovely."

The only minor complaint was the information for working the television would have been better being left on table, we couldn't get it working and it took a while to find leaflets in the bottom of a cupboard. Overall a lovely holiday.
