“Had such a relaxing week the view was amazing.”

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, we have booked again for next year.

The property

Being just a stone’s throw from the Runswick Bay beach, this delightful cottage is arguably in the best position in the prettiest bay on the North Yorkshire Coast.

Tastefully finished in a beach hut style design, this property is ideal for families who wish to enjoy a seaside location or adults who simply want to take in the scenery and maybe watch the sun go down while enjoying the pub or beach café just a few yards away.

The open-plan living area has a cosy woodburning stove and window seat to look out across the bay.

There’s a well-equipped kitchen and dining area perfect for a hearty breakfast.

On the first floor, be welcomed by an en-suite double bedroom, bathroom and a rather quirky single bedroom where a space saving staircase leads up to the converted loft where you will discover another three single beds.

There’s a sheltered enclosed terraced rear garden and a patio area out front which makes for the perfect people watching platform.

You could simply stroll along the beach or perhaps join the Cleveland Way for a bracing walk.

If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic setting, there are some fabulous places to explore such as the historic port of Whitby, or quaint fishing villages like Staithes or Robin Hoods Bay.

There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting the famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors.

Whenever you go, it’s just a lovely place to spend some quality time with the ones you love.

About the location

Staithes 2 miles; Whitby 9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 10 miles.

The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay is without doubt one of the true gems of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the whole of the UK. This picturesque SE-facing village situated 9 miles from Whitby sits in a beautiful sheltered sandy-beached bay backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Relatively un-commercialised and with vehicular traffic restricted, the village provides the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. Relish in taking long walks on either the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting Whitby with its famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and superb art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors. The lower village houses a local inn serving food along with a spectacularly situated cafe, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides 2 inns, a fish and chip shop, a local butchers and a garage/petrol station. A Co-op is situated at Staithes 2 miles away.
