“The house was very nice and in a lovely position.”

Unfortunately the general standard of cleanliness when we arrived was disappointing especially given the supposed Covid 19 housekeeping procedures. We had to clean the kitchen worktops and some of the cupboards as there was some food residue present. The table mats were also not clean with food on them. Unfortunately the general standard of cleanliness when we arrived was disappointing especially given the supposed Covid 19 housekeeping procedures. We had to clean the kitchen worktops and some of the cupboards as there was some food residue present. The table mats were also not clean with food on them. We also had to clean the downstairs shower room as the tiles were dirty with black residue on them. We had to run the hoover around as well and found an empty plastic food carton next to one of the sofas. There were also quite a number of light bulbs missing in various light fittings around the property. Whilst ultimately this didn't detract too much from our holiday I feel the owners should be made aware that the housekeeping standards are not what I would expect from a Gold Standard property.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your findings, we were very disappointed the hear about the cleanliness issues. The housekeeper is very experienced and thorough. We have now addressed the issues concerned and we are glad that it did not detract too much from your stay in Sandsend. - Sykes owner relations
