The owners were upset they couldn’t resolve it until the next day. A few more clear glass tumblers in the kitchen would be good.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry we could not resolve the water and heating issue immediately and thank you for being so understanding. We where not aware of the tumbler issue it has now been resolved. Property Owner

Kitchen could be better equipped ie crockery , colander, casserole dish for the microwave and better prep knives. Light at the top of the stairs could be a lot brighter for safety

This is my second stay at this property, A very comfortable house. A quiet location, but near to town and Peasholm park. Owners can be contacted, and are very helpful. Do not intrude on your stay though. Carilyn.

Perfect location. We had a lovely week. The only reason I rated facilities slightly lower is the lack of wash basin in the upstairs toilet. Otherwise a lovely property which I would happily book again if we come back to Scarborough

Thank you for your feedback. We are looking at putting in facilities within the upstairs toilet. Hope you you book again soon. Property Owner

  • "We were very disappointed with the property."

The front of the property was full of weeds. On entering the property the carpets had nasty stains on them and were very grubby. All the furniture was dated. Even though there was a key for the windows we were unable to open them. The floor in the bathroom felt it was going to fall through when you walked on it.House would be a problem for asthmatics dusty with no ventilation. the wardrobes in the main bedroom were really a wardrobe just a sliding door. Not up to Sykes usual properties.

  • "Hello, I have just stayed for a week at 31, Elmville Avenue."

A very good stay, very clean and well thought out, lots of homely features. The lack of outdoor garden is more of a problem if you brought children, but the house is lovely. Dont know if there is a television point in the two smaller bedrooms, but some older children might like that. Rooms all good size, only stayed on my own but house is a very good size. One thing I found missing, no info about local amenities or any information. I think this would be helpful to people who don,t know the area at all. So quiet and peaceful, and near to Peasolm Park, which is beautiful. Thank you for a good stay.

  • "The property very good ."

Stairs a problem for oap,s not fully explained in write up of property (managed with difficulty). Outside steps to the bins not very clever (used them once) . Battery needed in front door bell. Light bulbs in living room required. Wash basin in toilet upstairs required. Finally I thought Welcome pack meant a pint of milk tea or coffee and probably a pack of biscuits!!!not a whole lot of instructions etc .after journeying for 3 hours we 80year olds had to ring for a taxi straight away to Sainsbury's !!

  • "This mid terraced property was very conveniently placed , near the lovely Peasholm Park, and not too far from the coast."

There was an Aldi store only a short distance away as well. It was very handy having an upstairs loo, when the bathroom was downstairs. There was plenty of room for two of us, and we had all we needed. The double bed in the front bedroom was very comfortable, but the otehr two beds had sprung mattresses whish were not as comfortable. We were amazed at all the books, the ornaments and pictures on the walls! There was a comprehensive guide to 'equipment' in the house, for which we were grateful, as we are definitely technophobes! We were very grateful for the visitor parking permits as well, as that really helped a lot; and we even managed to get a space outside the house by about the third day!

  • "The Elmville Avenue house met our needs perfectly."

It was clean and comfortable and had the facilities described but, moreover, we felt 'at home' immediately - more so than in other places we've stayed. On reflection, we felt that it was because, in decorating the house with pictures, ornaments, flowers, etc, the owners have found a perfect balance between it feeling like a real home but it not feeling like someone else's home. My old mum really appreciated the stairlift, walk-in shower and handrails at the kitchen entrance. It was just the level of assistance she needed although other disabled customers may not manage the few extra steps here and there. The local area was pleasant and pretty quiet. There were useful shops nearby. Parking was easy.

Excellent location for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding area. Only criticism is the lack of an upstairs shower but we managed easily with that downstairs facilities. Overall it is a tremendous place which we would have no hesitation in booking in the future.

  • "The only problem with the house was no washing facilities upstairs."

I wear contact lenses and had to negotiate the stairs which are narrow due to the stannah stair lift to wash my hands downstairs before being able to put my lenses in. The house was immaculately clean and handy for all the facilities of the north shore. It was well equipped and the walk in shower was ideal. The washer dryer and outside space to dry clothes was also a bonus. We had a really enjoyable holiday.

The property

This lovely mid-terrace house dates back to the roaring 1920s and sits in a quiet road in the coastal town of Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort.

With North Bay a pleasant 10 minute stroll away and the delightful Peasholm Park even closer, this lovely property is perfect for a family seaside getaway.

There are three bedrooms, accommodating up to five guests, as well as a well-equipped kitchen, a separate dining room and a sitting room.

There is also a first floor WC and a ground floor shower room.

This is a great house for entertaining, so why not cook up a family meal to remember?

Alternatively, eat out at one of Scarborough’s huge choice of restaurants, bistros and, of course, that great British tradition, fish and chip shops.

Scarborough has two bays, each with its own distinct character, and dividing the two is Scarborough Castle, standing sentinel on a massive promontory of rock, rising above the North Sea.

Scarborough boasts a water park, with a mix of thrills for adrenaline junkies, including an enormous wave pool erupting metre-high waves, and a relaxing infinity pool and luxury spa – fun for all the family.

Further up the coast are Whitby and a handful of pretty bays with red-roofed cottages built in mellow Yorkshire stone.

Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's Bay are just perfect for nostalgic pastimes such as rock pooling and building sandcastles.

Visitors to this delightful coastline will be captivated by the beautiful sandy beaches - once visited you will want to return time and time again.
