  • “Kittiwake was the nicest apartment we’ve stay in, not only was it so clean but I can’t think of anything that hadn’t been thought of, it’s decor was first class, and for me the view of the bay from the lounge window unbelievable, can’t speak high enough, owner was also very approachable, all in all a very pleasant stay in a highly recommended apartment.”

The property

With stunning panoramic views overlooking the sea, headland and castle, this fabulous duplex apartment is in an enviable position in the popular coastal town of Scarborough.

Set over the ground and first floor in a converted former Victorian hotel, the property is perfectly placed for enjoying the many attractions of this vibrant resort, but within close proximity of the spectacular North York Moors National Park.

With upside down accommodation, entry is via a staircase up to a communal entrance into the modern apartment.

The open plan living area is comfortably furnished to a high standard, with a well-equipped, contemporary kitchen and a glass-topped dining table.

The large front window throws in plenty of light in this inviting room and enables guests to sit and watch the sweeping vistas of the ever-changing seas.

Stairs lead down to the two cosy bedrooms and bathroom, the double with a door leading onto the small, enclosed patio.

This lovely apartment benefits from private parking for one car, a rare find in this bustling seaside town and with all amenities at hand, you can leave your car safely and explore on foot.

Across the road, a path leads down to the promenade and the quieter beach of North Bay, but with a couple of excellent cafes in which to indulge in.

Enjoy the colourful gardens of Peasholm Park, with its boating lake, or walk along the promenade to South Bay, with its amusements, restaurants and pubs.

The castle ruins, perched high on the cliffs are worth a visit, whilst culture lovers will be impressed by the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, which features excellent productions.

The beautiful surrounding countryside is well worth discovering, with its heather-clad moors, pretty villages and wonderful network of footpaths and trails for walkers.

Altogether, a superb base for a varied and relaxing holiday, at any time of the year.
