  • "Love the bath , and the windows that open wide for fresh air."

Felt secure as I was on my own and no noise from neighbours , easy to park no issues. The final fire door to get to the let would be good it the wooden step was painted I tripped twice on it couldn’t see it very well. Carpets could do with a good steam. If more than one person is staying 100% needed bigger pans to cook a meal to hold potatoes for four ect I wanted to cook a soup to last a couple of days but not big enough and the frying pan would only fit two eggs it ok just for me. The iron was broken but one call and they must have came within 1/2 hour with a replacement iron so very impressed. Could do with some clean dusters In order to clean through before I left I had to improvise and empty the full vacuums so I could vacuum. When you come out of building and go down the road where car is parked some lovely gardens and view benches there to enjoy it. Quite hard for older ones thakkfull my elderly parents did not want to come due to being unwell but they would not have made the stairs at all several flights to go up. But I would book this place again no problem

  • "Enjoyed our recent stay."

The apartment was clean and comfortable, being in South bay it was convenient while being quieter than the centre or North bay. The bus stop just outside meant we could get the bus to Filey and Bridlington or if we didn't fancy the uphill walk from town jump on the bus for a couple of stops. We found the directions slightly confusing, maybe that was just us.

  • "My son twenty years old and myself took a week's holiday at Lynwood Loft, we found the apartment was beautifully decorated and decor was fantastic."

The apartment was extremely clean and all the little touches made it home from home such as the delicious biscuits, and having the use of iron and hairdryer. My son found the double bed to low, however I found it extremely comfortable and my son found the single beds comfortable so it worked out well for us. Both shower and bath where luxurious with soft towels provided. We did not cook in the apartment however all utensils and cooking items were provided should we have chosen to do so. As previous reviews say the traffic noise can be loud at times but did get quieter as the night went on, and although we live in a rural village so are not used to noise after the first night we found it really did not affect us. Stairs to the flat are a challenge but we saw this has a positive helping with our fitness. Location is fantastic as its only a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the town, train station and beach. Number 12 / 13 bus stops just outside the apartment and we took the bus on the Sunday to visit Filey which was lovely but much quieter than Scarborough. Bus service very reliable. If you love looking around gift shops Whitby is well worth a visit, as is the north miniature railway at Peasholm park. The park is beautiful and oriental. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners at the end of our holiday who was friendly, professional and took a real interest in our holiday. Thank you for helping us to have a fantastic positive and enjoyable holiday.

  • "Clean, comfortable and well equipped."

Everything that the description advertised. Would have no hesitation in a return visit. South Cliff areas near the apartment are a total contrast to the Central beach stretch. Lovely week.

  • "Comfortable and clean flat, not for the less mobile as it's on the 3rd floor (40+ steps as someone else has commented) and is about 15 minutes walk from the train station/town centre a little further to the main part of the South Bay seafront."

This is all downhill to get there so, obviously, uphill to get back! The traffic is noisy but not too bad overnight, it was really hot when we stayed so the windows were open so more noticeable. That said the flat is a good base for exploring all that Scarborough has to offer, we also caught the train to Beverley and Filey and never used our car from arrival to departure. My only slight issue with the facilities was no hairdryer, not a major problem as my hair dries quickly anyway, but all properties I have been to over the last few years have had one whether listed or not so I have stopped packing my own.

Many thanks for your constructive comment highlighting the need to provide a hairdryer, which has been actioned for future guests Property Owner

  • "Too many stairs 41 to be exact."

Chronic traffic noise.was like next to motorway

Being an apartment with long distance views on the second floor of this Victorian villa, this number of stairs are somewhat inevitable. The week you booked enjoyed particularly warm weather and so with the double glazed Velux windows open traffic noise would be heard. Unfortunately given the heritage status of the building neither a lift nor air conditioning can be incorporated to overcome these issues. Property Owner

Lovely roof top flat, everything you needed was there, washer and dishwasher, tea towels, washing up liquid, all the extra we need not have taken, parking was not an issue but can understand why some have commented on it, all in all was a lovely place to stay

  • "A nice little apartment only a short walk from the South Shore Cliffs."

However, the dishwasher was not working or repaired for the duration of our stay; disappointingly the owners did not even say sorry. Parking now says "first come first served", but not when we booked; there are more apartments than parking spaces so I hope you have better luck than we did. The property description does not say it is on a very busy and noisy road, one of the main arterial routes in and out of Scarborough. Two of the large double gazed windows have blown and have condensation in them which makes the property look uncared for.

By the guests' own admission the dishwasher was working OK on Friday after the couple arrived. When a fault was indicated on Sat eve, he undertook, without authorisation from the owners, to try and fix it. Not being a domestic appliance engineer, his efforts proved unsuccessful so left a message with the owners late Sat eve and rang again early Sun am by which time arrangements had been made for kitchen fitter & owners to visit late Sun am with guests in attendance. The dishwasher was working ok when owners & fitter left having received no appreciation for their prompt attention for this non urgent issue from guests. The guest subsequently called the owners and Sykes on Sun pm to say it was faulty again. On Monday Sykes were notified by the owners that a local DA engineer could not attend for 10 days and that a new dishwasher had been purchased and would be delivered & installed on changeover day Fri. The guests parked their car on site from Fri- Sun and indicated their intention not to use the car during their stay. Designated parking has never indicated whilst alternative unrestricted on street is available on the side street, viewable from the property. As with any open window, road noise can be heard but when closed the dg limits this and the bedrooms are located furthest from the road referred to. The photos indicate the property is cared for and the blown seals is an issue the block management agent is attending to. Property Owner
