  • "I booked this for my daughter and her family for 2 weeks."

They were 2 adults and 3 young children. They all enjoyed the stay enormously, the house being near to the harbour and to the beach. The house itself was quiet, sufficiently roomy, comfortable and had an interesting history. They travelled by train and found no undue difficulty getting there. I have always found your staff very helpful in the booking process.

  • "Brilliant, lovely quirky cottage."

Fully equipped home from home. Washing machine for longer stays, everything you could need in the kitchen. Lovely clean bedding and towels. Two minutes walk from the beach and arcades. Lovely sea views from the bedroom windows. Brilliant location close to all amenities, all in all excellent value for money and will definitely be back, and will recommend this cottage very highly to friends and family.

  • "Quirky vintage charm."

The cottage is ideally located, just a few mins walk to South Bay beach or up to the castle. Hubby struggled with his dust allergy up in the master bedroom, however it wasn't overtly dusty. The cottage had just about everything one might need, and the games and books were a pleasant surprise. Communication regarding the booking, key, stay and leaving instructions, was excellent. Thank you!!

  • "Great cottage, clean and well equipped, the parking was not an issue as we got a place by the cottage but there is plenty around."

Well positioned for all amenities although we did walk around the back streets that was hilly. The only thing was low ceilings in some places and hubby kept banging his head... We'll he is 6ft 4+. Would recommend a stay.

  • "We had a lovely holiday in Sandgate Cottage."

It was warm and inviting. It felt like a home rather than a rental especially with all the small touches like books and DVDs for both adults and children. It has a gaming set in the lounge for rainy days. Dominoes became a favourite on a morning. The kids loved the clapperboard. It inspired them to make a family video of the place. We hope to stop again next year.

It was exactly as it was advertised. We especially loved the quirky decor. Close to all local amenities. Would definitely recommend anybody to stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "Fantastic few nights away in Scarborough."

Would have been 5 stars had the sofa been more comfortable and one of the plugs in the kitchen not working. This meant had to either boil the kettle or use the toaster. We had a lovely stay however. Beds are uber comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The cottage is very well situated on the edge of the old town, with views to the beach from the top floor."

30 seconds walk from the front but far enough away to be quiet. The spiral staircases are wide enough not to be any problem at all and although there is no parkIng immediately outside, we had no problem loading and unloading and finding on street parking within 5 minutes walk away using the vouchers supplied. The cottage is very homely and quirky, decorated in a way that you know you are near the beach. We loved the reclaimed timber bath panels and mirrored wall in the penthouse bedroom. Would definitely go back when we go to Scarborough again.

  • "Great location, clean and cosy cottage with adequate facilities."

A few negatives being only one front door key, shower rail kept falling down, kitchen plug socket not working and the sofa is too low down. Spiral staircases are a challenge particularly with luggage. However these issues would not prevent us staying here again in the future. The cottage was fine and fit for our purpose in general.

  • "The cottage was very clean and very well located with good size bedrooms."

Sadly it was terribly uncomfortable to sit in the living area as the sofa was not fit for purpose. So for a family of 4 it’s not great on a rainy day or for an evening in. With an upgraded sofa and chair, new pillows and slightly bigger TV this would have transformed the stay’s comfort.

  • "The cottage was brilliantly located right in the old town, and had everything we needed."

The kitchen was very well equipped- sharp knives! And plenty of pans etc. There was a problem with the shower when we arrived but this was fixed within a couple of days. A great spot for a Scarborough holiday.

  • "Perfect holiday house, excellent location we really enjoyed our stay."

Only issue we had was with the shower, this needs looking at. When it turns on water sprays all from the unit and hose and not the shower head. I did contact the contact number regarding this but no one got back to us so had to manage with the bath for 5 days, not great when you e been in the beach and want to shower the sand away.

  • "Sandgate Cottage is situated a very short distance from the South bay seafront."

It therefore makes it an ideal base for anyone holidaying in Scarborough. We visited as a family of 4 and found the cottage to be comfortable, clean and well catered for. There was parking provision provided for free on street parking. Cleaning products provided, towels and wifi. The bedrooms were large and airy. The house is quirky decorated giving it charm and there was excellent views from the top floor bedroom. I would recommend this lovely cottage to anyone thinking about booking.
