  • "Wellington place was lovely and cosy."

Cleanliness and decor was on top form. Everything was of top quality. Beds were so comfy too. Lovely welcome pack so you could have a drink and a biscuit and some lovely roses too. We don’t drive so was close to all the amenities. Had beautiful weather too. We will be booking again.

  • "A wonderful house, with a homely feeling when you step through the door."

Timely and friendly communication from the owners for arrival details and fresh milk and hot drinks on arrival. Very well equipped with probably everything you might need. Parking was easy right outside the property and location was good - short walk to shops/high street. Short walk for fantastic sea views and a longer stroll for beach access but not too far. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend.

  • "This was a wonderful house to stay in."

The bedrooms (very comfy beds!) and bathroom were very spacious. Lovely shower with lots of room. Has so many period features, but also modern and very stylish touches. The house was spotlessly clean and the little touches little milk, biscuits and flowers were lovely. I met the owner and she was lovely, I’ve never booked with a cottage company before, but will definitely again and most likely go here again but for longer to enjoy it more as it’s very well situated. The house was well stocked for a rainy day but we didn’t use the Xbox etc as we had sun while we were there. The house also has many other things you may need such as bucket and spades, a first aid kit, foil, washing up liquid etc, so in future I’ll pack a lot less to take on holiday with us. Behind the house is a less than 5 minute walk to beautiful north bay views and somewhere to walk the dog and a park for the kids, then another 5 minutes to get down to the right hand side of north bay. In front of the house it’s a short walk to many fish and chip shops and the amusements. Only once we couldn’t park outside the house, but parked just round the corner, so parking was fine. Overall a wonderful place to stay with plenty of room for 2 grown kids and Labrador too.

  • "We spent a week at Wellington Place at the end of July."

What a lovely property! I have stayed in many cottages and air bnb properties over the years and this was certainly one of the best in terms of cleanliness, decor and facilities. The owner Jeanette is so helpful and the flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival were a lovely touch. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals just as you would at home if you don’t want to eat out all the time and we found the addition of the baby gate to be very helpful as our 3 year old slept upstairs by himself. It just meant we had peace of mind. Thank you for a lovely week!

  • "This is our first holiday with Sykes Cottages."

We were very impressed with the quality of Wellington Place and also the kind efforts of the owners to make us welcome. It was like living history staying in a Georgian property. The beds and all the facilities in the house were comfortable and all the family were pleased. We already recommended the house to a guest who was also staying in Scarborough. We would certainly look to stay at Wellington Place again.

So much to explore we didn't use our car at all. We had a scratch card parking permit no trouble finding parking place. It was really good having a lovely warm house to come back to and the best shower ever . The owner is very friendly and approachable we had the most relaxing holiday with our dog Lacey too. There are numerous cafes and pubs that allow dogs one especially is mojos and they have extensive vegan menu and live music twice a week. After a stroll on beach another dog very friendly cafe the waterfront I think it's called. Don't hesitate to book wellington place you won't be disappointed.

Beautifully decorated to a very high standard and was spotless . Everything you could possibly need in a holiday home was provided . When we had a slight problem the owner came straight away and sorted it out . Great location for both North and South bays and Peasholm Park , all of which we visited . For dinner we walked to the Scarborough Arms which was at the end of the road , also a very good chip shop at the other end ! We were very lucky with the weather , considering it was October , big bonus - our dog was also welcome. Would definitely recommend .

Even the car parking pre organised scratch type card was on the kitchen table ready for use. When you arrive, it can be quite a problem knowing where to park for the best but this was explained perfectly in the welcome notes. Wellington Place is perfectly situated for exploring most of Scarborough (and did we do some walking) and is a credit to the owners. We will definitely recommend this accommodation to others and will look forward to using Sykes Cottages again.

Would definitely stay again. We would have liked a bit more outdoor space for the convenience of letting dog out in the evening rather than having to take her out on the lead, but wasn't really an issue. Very central for walking to both bays and town centre - hardly used the car, which was parked on road in front of house. Decor gorgeous and friendly, helpful owner!
