  • "House decorated and generally furnished to a comfortable standard overall."

It puzzled us then why the owners were so parsimonious with items such as dishwasher tabs - two left for three nights, toilet rolls, one and a half, and a few tea bags. A request for a cafetière and tea strainer was denied.

Thankyou for your feedback. Moorview is self catering accommodation and you are expected to provide some of the essentials you may need. You sent us a text message requesting a tea strainer and cafetiaire after you had arrived. We have now added these items to the property. We did leave you milk, tea coffee biscuits and crisps, which were complimentary and not included in your booking. We are sorry you feel the need to make personal comments about us being parsimonious. Thank you for a great stay. Location is great, and house is very well presented.

Thankyou so much for your lovely comments. We take pride in how the house is presented. We were however disappointed that you allowed your dogs upstairs and on the spare beds leaving us extra cleaning costs. Martin&Ally Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy house."

All the comforts of home. A stroll down to town. Steep uphill return - not for the faint hearted! The welcome pack was very generous and appreciated. Parking for one car no problem directly in front of the house. A second vehicle may have to look further afield as the back lane is not recommended due to nasty note being left on the car. Be aware noise carries to the neighbours. Our dog was quiet thank goodness.

Thank you for your review and for looking after the house, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Moorview. We are glad you managed to park in front of the house. It is possible to park on the rear cobbles if you take care not to cause obstruction with it being an open ended road. We hope you had a safe journey back to Ireland. Property Owner

Very cozy and homelike with everything we could have wanted in terms of being well equipped. Comfortable beds and a great shower and lots of room to move around throughout the house. Nice back yard tastefully paved and with pleasant rattan furniture and a nice sun trap in the evenings. House was spotless on arrival and owners very attentive. Will certainly return'.

  • "Moorview is an ideal property, it has all you could need for a comfortable stay in Skipton."

It’s ideally close to Skipton town centre. Our dog was made to feel very welcome with bowls, treats and food on arrival. There was also a welcome tray with milk, bread and cakes for us. My only complaint if you could call it that is that there was no full length mirror in the property and parking is a little tight but we did manage to park up. We would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be returning again soon.

Thankyou for giving your feedback and we are really glad you enjoyed your stay at Moorview. Thankyou also for leaving the property clean and tidy. We have listened to your point about the mirror and we will put one in the property. Glad you managed to park your car. While we have been renovating the house over the past 6 months we have always managed to park outside or very close to the house. We look forward to you returning. Martin and Allyson Property Owner

About the location

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
