Just a five minute gentle stroll brings you to the local inn, renowned for good food, while the village shop provides everyday necessities.

Three miles away is the magnificent stately home of Castle Howard (from Brideshead Revisited) with wonderful gardens, lakeside walks and an upmarket cafe and estate shop.

Surrounded by the Howardian Hills, the area is a fantastic base for walkers and cyclists, with a network of footpaths and quiet country lanes to follow.

The market towns of Helmsley and Malton are only a few minutes’ drive, with their cobbled squares, quaint tea rooms and many independent shops and delis.
