  • "We feel this property is the best we have stayed in."

All the information given was very clear. The accommodation was spotless and we were very comfortable with close proximity to the sea front and it was nice to be able to park right outside the property. The only thing we missed was a small sharp knife to slice vegetables as the large knives were too big for this task, however it wasn’t a problem as we only cooked a main meal once (we like to eat out a lot on holiday). Overall a fantastic apartment, pity about the weather but we enjoyed our break anyway.

Thank you Sandra for taking the time to post such a fantastic review. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay in our apartment. Somehow, a previous guest managed to cut the end off the veg knife!! We have now added replacements. We look forward to welcoming you in the future! Property Owner

The proximity to the cliff lift was perfect for a nice walk into the town then a walk along the beach coming back then up in the left - ideal! The rooms were very good sizes and we had no difficulties at all with anything. This is a fantastic place for dogs, the beach, the welcoming shopkeepers, cafe and bar owners. Scarborough must have the happiest dogs in the UK. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "Absolutely amazing."

All the facilities and extras you could wish for. Exceptionally clean - we don't usually fully unpack as drawers & wardrobes are often not clean enough or smell musty but this time our cases were empty and tucked away till repacked. A true home from home. The decor and furnishings were lovely. The view from the lounge and kitchen were amazing - sea and castle and Esplanade Gardens. We loved sitting at the table with our meals. The smart TV for a great addition as I could log into my Amazon Prime account if I wanted to. Nothing to not love and we will definitely stay there again. That part of Scarborough has always been our favourite so the location is also perfect. Quick tip if you want to avoid the steps/slope to the blue bridge into town turn left and then at the end turn right so you can walk along Ramshill and go over Valley Bridge. They're working on the cliff lift but it's a long job of course. Also go the St Martin's Church for the amazing Pre-Raphaelite designs and fab cafe (they have a proper cafe kitchen so you can have cappuccino etc, and delicious Welsh Rarebit and home made cakes). Clock Cafe is also always lovely and has one of the best views in Scarborough - if the flag isn't flying, it's closed.

Thank you Allison for taking the time to post such a fabulous review. My housekeeper will be delighted for the much deserved recognition of her work! The 100% scores just keep coming which we are most grateful for. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Property Owner

The apartment was modern, spacious, clean and well equipped. The living area is huge with amazing views to the sea. The modern kitchen has everything you could need. The beds are comfortable and having an en suite bathroom as well as a family bathroom was a great addition. We didn't have a problem parking and always managed to get parked right outside the apartment. The location is great and so near the beach. It's just a shame the cliff lift wasn't working during our stay. The nearby Mexican resturant El Gringos is well worth a visit. Highly recommend Archie's Anchor for a family holiday. Thanks for having us ❤️

We did miss being able to sit on the balcony, the table and chairs have gone. A word from the owners that the cliff lift is out of action would have been appreciated. We did our usual walk down through the Italian gardens to the sea and then discovered the cliff lift wasn’t working to take us back up!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review with positive comments and 100% score. I am sorry the cliff lift was out of action during your stay, I wasn't aware of this. For future reference, I purchased a new bistro set at the beginning of this year which is stored in the cupboard in the hall area of the apartment. Property Owner

  • "The property is very spacious and clean with a lovely view over the harbour."

Generally we really enjoyed our stay but some aspects were a bit disappointing. Key safe access via a low, dark cupboard was an issue (although we appreciate there is another key safe outside for emergency use). We didn't realise that access to the balcony was via the lounge window and did not feel it safe to use this. This should be mentioned in the property details. A recycling bin in the kitchen would be helpful, as we felt that having to use the fire escape to access the bins was dangerous. These comments are meant to be helpful and might not be an issue for some guests.

Full instructions given on how to get in the property. Was as amazing as it looked and very much enjoyed our stay. Lots of thoughtful little touches especially being able to have a coffe or tea or cold drink as soon as we arrived without having to go out to find the shops. it was nice to just drop the bags and sit on the balcony and enjoy the view with a cold drink. The flat was clean and tidy with a homely feel. Very spacious and with lots of light. There are two lots of steps up to the flat. There lovely gardens across the road where people often walk dogs, Small Sainsbury a short walk away. Good bus service. The boat ride to Whitby is a good experience - take binoculours to see the seals. Lovely local pub The Cask Inn. Food is good and it has a weekly Jazz club on Wednedays but you need to get there early to queue up. There was a cost to get in but think the price varies depending on who is playing.
