The apartment was brilliant,so comfy with amazing views from the balcony. The walks virtually outside of the door include the Italian gardens, the Rose gardens and the clock tower all with fantastic walks nearby. The apartment is in a really quiet part of Scarborough so you are guaranteed peace and quiet. Been visiting Scarborough for over 15yrs and this is by far the best place we have stayed Reviewed by GlynSep 2021 "Enjoyed having a very nice apartment to go back to everyday after visiting ..." We got a bit mixed up with parking permits and ended one being wasted as we didnt realise at first that they lasted 2 days. Also please change your parking permit promptly at 10am....We didnt and got a parking ticket but this was our fault but they are very quick to give you a ticket in scarborough. Lovely clean and stylish Apparment lots of original features and a nice touch of Art Deco. We also got fab weather. The view from the balcony was great and we had a lovely sea view as well. The location is spot on too, very close to the cliff lift and the view from the balcony was lovely. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Suggest property is not suitable for frail people. There are four flights of stairs to property. Also a few concrete steps up to main door. inside a few steps down to bathroom. If fairly fit this should not be a problem as nice open aspect once inside. Apartment overlooking a small park and sea to the right side. Reviewed by SusanAug 2020 "Beautiful property and absolutely perfect location." Views from the balcony were lovely - perfect place to sit in the sun and watch the harbour in the distance. Very pretty nighttime view as the lights come on. Easy parking was a real bonus. As the property overlooks a small park, it was extremely peaceful Reviewed by DellaAug 2020 "The apartment was excellent, we really enjoyed our stay at the Salty Pilchard." Reviewed by CJul 2020 "When we arrived, we found the heating/hot water not working." We tried phoning the owners, but with no immediate reply. We phoned their cleaners, and they sent someone over who was really great, but we still failed to get the boiler working. She phoned Sykes for us, and Sykes set up an alternative room for the first night for us, in a Premier Inn. It seemed to take a long time for the woman in the Sykes office to get the correct paperwork in the correct format to the Premier Inn, and we were kept waiting for about half an hour before being allowed into our room. In the meantime, the cleaners had succeeded in contacting the owners, who phoned us extremely concerned about our being able to get back in. They said they were trying to find a plumber to come out the following day - the Saturday before Christmas - but failing that, would come out themselves to try and reset it. Sykes were preparing to look for alternative accommodation for us should the heating not prove mendable. Thankfully, the owners were able to reset the boiler themselves the following morning, and we no longer had to call on Sykes to find us alternative accommodation. The personal attention from the owners, after the initial difficulty in contacting them, was brilliant. Sykes did ok, but could have been speedier in getting the paperwork to Premier Inn. This was difficult for us, as my wife has autism and, although she coped well with the disruption, the need to wait for the paperwork to come through was difficult and distressing for her. The staff at the Premier Inn were extremely helpful; but it's not a pleasant place to stay. Reviewed by PeterDec 2019 "Amazing week." Very chilled. There was everything I needed. The owners of this property should feel proud of what they have achieved. We loved every minute of our holiday and even booked for next year before we set back off home ❤️❤️ Reviewed by RebeccaMay 2019 "The apartment is in a great location, is well looked after and has a lovely comfortable feel to it." There are a couple of downsides - the small bedroom next to the bathroom has a partially glass wall so becomes very light as soon as the sun comes up - not so great if you are a poor sleeper. On the plus side, the beds are really comfortable. The view is good but you have to stand in the corner of the room by the window to see it so don't expect to sit looking out to the sea! we had a query about the hot water and the owners responded really quickly and were extremely helpful. Plan for being fully self catering - no "welcome" items and only one toilet roll provided! Thank you for the feedback, and we hope you enjoyed your stay at the Salty Pilchard. I am very sorry to hear there was no welcome pack, this should have been provided by the cleaning team who I shall speak to about the matter. The sea views from the balcony are very spectacular, I hope next time the weather is good enough for you to enjoy them!
