  • "Absolutely fantastic from start to finish nothing to fault at all."

The lodge and hot tub was extremely clean. Very easy to deal with and neighbours were great also. 10/10 would definitely recommend. I will be returning

  • "This is a fabulous place."

It was clean, modern and comfortable. We didn’t watch the television but it’s a huge television. We liked sitting upstairs in the afternoon. The bed was really comfortable. We used the hot tub every day. The Stag’s head was our favourite place for food. We walked one evening, it’s very dark but the drivers were respectful and slowed down. We visited the coast and really enjoyed Blu Luna for lunch in Beverley - dog friendly too. Unfortunately we had to come home 2 days earlier than expected as our little dog became very unwell, it was very upsetting. I contacted the owners and they were very understanding. We would definitely visit again though.

The cottage was well-appointed, clean, tidy, and was to a high standard. We enjoyed sitting on the mezzanine with a coffee looking out at the fantastic surrounding area. Our sincere thanks to you all for maintaining the Hot Tub, which we used daily. We would have loved to have been able to leave our praise in the guest book upon leaving but there were no pages left! Thank you for a fantastic, relaxing stay. We hope to visit again next year.

  • "Had a great stay."

Very peaceful location with fabulous views of the countryside. The property is well equipped and has modern facilities. The Stags Head Inn serves great food and is dog friendly. It is within walking distance but more like 0.6 miles from the property - a bit too far for an elderly dog (but fine for able bodied humans!) Would stay there again

Many thanks for your very kind comments, we are thrilled you have enjoyed Owl's Hoot. Property Owner

  • "The property was absolutely stunning!"

The spec was modern and to a high standard, yet had a warm, homely country vibe. We took our 1year old Labrador, who was living his best life (it was his first holiday and he is sulking being back home!) There was plenty of field space for him to run around on (even after having long walks around the local trails and the beach!! He still loved the field on the back! It was also a gorgeous view when having that first morning coffee!) The only thing I would’ve liked, is a closed off space for the dog…not everyone staying at the barns wants to be approached by a dog, so I was always cautious when he was out. However, there were no issues, the space was great (we did bring the dog’s crate, which he went in so that we could enjoy the wonderful hot tub!) plus all the others guests were friendly and I appreciate how beautiful the courtyard is, so closing off areas might lose that look they are going for. The barn itself was very clean, as were the areas around the barns, it was beautifully peaceful and it was the absolute half term break I was needing! We would definitely recommend, with every penny, and we will definitely return in the future!

  • "We stayed in Owls Hoot for a week with our dog Jeph and had a lovely relaxing break."

The barn conversions are beautiful, Owls Hoot is small but beautifully designed, with the living room upstairs and views over the fields. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would ever need (plus it has a dishwasher, washing machine and small freezer). The bathroom has a large powerful shower and plenty of storage under the sink unit. The large bed is firm but very comfortable and there is enough wardrobe and drawer space. The hot tub was amazing and we used it first thing in the morning and in the evening when the soft lighting around the barns made everything look magical. There is a grassed area just outside and plenty of dog walks straight from the barn. The decor is modern, the barn was clean and warm (downstairs has underfloor heating and radiators upstairs) and we had a wonderful stay. We have just been talking about returning later in the year, we liked it that much. If you are thinking of booking, do so, you won’t be disappointed :)

  • "Owl's Hoot and all of the other barn conversions have been beautifully designed."

The location is lovely, very quiet & peaceful with lots of amenities a short drive away. The layout of the barn was good, small but still a perfect size for the two of us and our little Frenchie. Lots of stylish furniture, however it was a little uncomfortable, especially the bed; we both found the mattress extremely firm and the pillows completely lacking in substance, and struggled to sleep throughout the stay (a week) . The hot tub was lovely and the outside space beautifully put together, however it lacked privacy as the private/sectioned off areas are still quite open to the rest of the properties. Also, Owl's Hoot seems to have a lot less outdoor furniture (a single small bench) compared to the other properties, meaning it wasn't very desirable to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings, some chairs might be a good addition. One major downside for us was that there was no enclosed space for us to let our dog off of his lead; so he had to be in his harness whenever we needed to take him out. I think each property would benefit from it's own sectioned off space for greater comfort for dogs and additional peace of mind for their owners, as the thought of our dog escaping did weigh heavily on us for the duration of the stay, which caused stress. The gravel was also quite sharp for our dog's paws and he didn't like walking on it. There were also no designated dog waste bins and no recycling on site which surprised us. No water bowls for our dog either in the barn, which we have normally found when taking him away with us. The kitchen was well equipped, definitely one of the best holiday rental kitchens we have ever used, with good quality kitchen knives and other utensils and top spec appliances, all set into a beautiful worktop and cabinets. It would benefit for additional crockery and cutlery as we found ourselves constantly running out and washing up, and rarely had enough to fill the dishwasher, which felt wasteful. The bathroom was really nice and the shower was brilliant, great water pressure and nice and big. That room could benefit from a bit of additional storage, such as a unit in the shower and a shelf in the bathroom as there wasn't really anywhere for toiletries to be stored. Overall, we enjoyed our week at Owl's Hoot and would consider returning, however we would not bring our dog back as it is currently, and would be very conscious about the bed and how we slept.
