"Waycot cottage was a really nice little bolt hole."
Not for the tall though as my husband whacked his head every day on the kitchen doorframe and light fitting in the front room. (He’s 5ft 10) Highly recommend the comfy bed and wood burner and the owner had clearly gone out of her way with a welcome pack including delicious biscuits. Thank you so much for having us, we had a super week away in our favourite little village.

"The small living room downstairs smelt very strongly of dogs."
The furnishings need updating, as the 2 seat sofa looks and feels old and the living room carpet could do with a clean and no longer looks anything like it does in the cottage pictures.
The bath needs new enamel, and has become rough.
Having stayed in a number of Sykes properties, this was the first time that we felt that a cottage was overpriced based on its limited space and facilities.
Thank you for your comments. feedback is very important to us and we are in the process of a complete overhaul of the property. Carpets and furniture will be replaced and the bath resurfaced in the near future.
Many thanks Property Owner

Holiday in staithes very good, the cottage bedrooms was clean and comfortable however the bathroom and kitchen was not clean or well maintained- with the covid 19 situation I would have expected it to be clean - visable dirt all over bathroom - not acceptable

"This cottage is even smaller than it looks on the photos."
It is situated a long way from the car park which is up a extremely steep hill. There is another steep hill from the cottage down in to the harbour. It is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or disabled. There is a permit for parking in the car park but no information where to park which resulted in us and other people arriving home to fines of £60 and up to now we’ve had three. The cottage wasn’t very clean also.

"My first visit to Staithes, the village has a friendly, relaxed, old fashioned feel."
The cottage is small, quiet and comfortable, on the edge of the old village, ideal for morning and evening walks when the day visitors have gone home. We enjoyed walking on the beach with our dog, finding fossils and walking along the cliff path from which one day we saw a minke whale.

Nice and cosy with logs etc to make a fire if one wanted to.Staithes is a very quaint little village and the people are very friendly. Most days we took Freckles for a walk on the beach which is a short walk from the cottage.

"The cottage was much smaller than the the photographs implied, the kitchen was really a cupboard."
The fridge had been switched off so the milk was tepid rather than chilled. The sitting room was tiny and not particularly comfortable. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom was in serious need of a shower as the hand held one was pretty useless really. We left after one night and will definitely not be returning.

"We had a lovely holiday and were very pleased with the cottage."
We appreciated the parking permit which allowed us to use the big car park at the top of the village, and Waycot Cottage itself was a real sweetie. We enjoyed everything about it - the location, the furnishings, the fact that all the windows opened and closed beautifully ( we were lucky with the weather!), and the cat-next-door who would come and peer at us !

"It is really important to us that our holiday plans work out well, particularly given we spend most of our time at work!"
Therefor, booking through a frequently used and trusted site such as Sykes takes all the worry and fuss away. All the necessary steps are made simple, from browsing to booking. However, it is the accuracy of the property listings I find most helpful - this peace of mind is invaluable

Downstairs is very small. Upstairs bedrooms are lovely. The bath is hard to get out of, grab handles would help greatly. All in all Staithes is a fantastic place to visit. We are going again in September but staying at a different cottage.
