  • "Would have been helpful to know there’s not a wardrobe in the smaller bedroom."

The cottage is smaller than it looks on the photos. Bathroom in need of modernization. You are in the middle of nowhere and you need time to travel to places that are ‘close by’

  • "A lovely cosy cottage that was just right for us with our dog."

It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and provided a perfect base for days out and for visiting family in the area. We would love to return for another stay in the future.

  • "Angel Cottage is a very pretty cottage, in a quiet location, but well placed for visiting the whole of East Yorkshire."

It had everything we needed and we slept very well whilst we were there, so we were obviously very relaxed. Good Wifi connection, so we were able to keep in touch with family and other commitments.

  • "Dirty house with a damp and mouldy bathroom."

Not as appears in advertisement. Also much smaller than pictures led us to believe. Massively disappointed with Sykes response to my complaint (Sykes could only mediate and the owner would not refund us for the remainder of our stay at the very least) that the accommodation was a disappointment and most certainly not cleaned before our stay as downstairs was thick with dog hair (couple had stayed with two dogs prior to us and written in book in the house). Ruined our well earned holiday. Will never use Sykes again. Which is a real shame as the last house we rented was lovely and very clean.

Lots of info in the cottage about places to go . The cottage itself is pretty and well appointed , good quality appliances ,comfortable bed, good towels, bed linen etc Just a couple of negative points second bedroom is very small 4 adults would be a squeeze and the garden is a little neglected looking It needs some tlc But overall we had a great time loved the surrounding area so rural and pretty and would return

We spent last Christmas there too. We have family in the area so it is perfect for us. We enjoyed quality time with them whilst also having time relaxing at the cottage. We even managed a couple of local walks. Angel Cottage is lovely and cosy. It was even decorated for Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "This is the second time we have stayed at Angel cottage."

It is a very cosy cottage with everything you need for your stay. Spotlessly clean warm and comfortable. The secure back garden was ideal for letting the dogs out with no fear of them getting out. After busy days out with so many places nearby to visit it is a very lovely home to come back to. We would definitely recommend it to other people.

  • "The cottage was smaller than expected but was fine for three people and two small dogs."

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and tidy. I would recommend the cottage to future guests but at the time we stayed it was very hot which brought out swarms of hornet flies. The kitchen and garden were swarming with flies which meant we could not leave food or drinks uncovered, including the dog food. A fly swatter was provided but this was not adequate for the high number of flies. I contacted the owner after two days who advised we shut the windows and use fly spray. The nearest shop was a garage three miles away. We found it more comfortable to sit in the garden at the pub rather than the garden at the cottage because of the flies. After talking to regulars in the pub they kindly provided us with fly sprays etc which made the cottage more comfortable. I would recommend this cottage but advise future guests to go prepared with your own fly spray.

  • "Angel Cottage is a lovely little holiday venue in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds."

It is ideal for exploring the countryside, York, the region's several market towns & the coast. It is very comfortable with just about every facility that a cottage holiday-maker requires. We have stayed there twice now. Unfortunately, however, the back garden is still rather scruffy & untidy & some tlc would help make drinking / dining al fresco on warm afternoons & evenings a little more pleasant.

  • "You were very helpful locating this cottage for us."

We did not need a big property as there were only two of us plus 2 dogs. We also needed a location near Driffield with an enclosed garden - you came up trumps!

  • "The cottage would be a tight squeeze for more than 2 people, lots of stains on the chair in the living room ."

It was very warm in the bedroom, the owner left a fan but you had to move the bed side cabinets and pull the bed out to plug it in. When we arrived the street was full of cars so we could not park to unload so we had to go and drive around until a space became available, the road outside the cottage is also quite busy and noisy.

I am sorry that your stay at my cottage didn't meet up to your expectations. I pride myself on high standards and would have helped with any issue such as practical options for the fan, if I’d known at the time. Upholstery replacement can be a challenge with such a popular property but the covers have been treated and new extra covers have been ordered. Many guests including families with pets have enjoyed the space at the property, although I appreciate this is subjective. With a working farm nearby it may be slightly busier at this time of year although parking is of course available in the village centre. I hope your future holidays meet your expectations and many thanks for your feedback Property Owner

Booking through Sykes was quick and easy. The cottage was as described. It was perfect for us. It was warm and cosy. We were able to enjoy the lovely countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds, whilst also spending some quality time with our family over Christmas. The welcome goodies and the decorated Christmas tree were really kind gestures. We would certainly consider staying at Angel Cottage again, maybe in the summertime when we could enjoy some of the local walks.

  • "Angel cottage was very clean and well equipped."

There was a nice garden and owing to the good weather for October, we were able to sit out there on a couple of occasions. The cottage was warm and cosy with comfortable seating and it would be lovely to come back to the log burner in the winter. The shower was nice and hot and powerful. There was plenty of kitchen equipment too. The bedding and towels were good along with some lovely cushions and interesting photos on the walls. It was extremely quiet and peaceful in Wetwang, just the sort of place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed some walks locally and of course the fish and chip shop. It is a good location for visiting the coast or York and we found Beverley to be a lovely place to visit. Our dogs settled in straight away. Even though the parking is on street and park where you can find a space, we never struggled and always managed to park right in front of the cottage. We would recommend Angel cottage if you want a quiet, relaxing base but within short drives of places of interest.

A bottle of wine and a cake greeted us upon arrival and all the cottage's facilities enabled us to really enjoy ourselves. The cottage has some very useful walking books for further ideas of where to ramble and a picnic table in the back garden allows for a relaxing late afternoon / evening upon return. This was most appreciated as neither pub in the village is dog friendly when serving food and is often shut when not doing so.
