  • "We enjoyed our stay but there were a few problems with the bathroom door not shutting properly and the door knob was loose and actually fell off and my husband screwed this back on aswell screws that fell out from two dining room chairs."

Also the cupboard in bathroom wouldn't close. I know it was listed but a washing machine would have been more useful than a dishwasher.

Thank you for staying at Cosy Cottage, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and highlighting the bathroom door handle and the two loose screws in the dinning room chairs . If you had called or messaged me I would have been more than happy to come straight down and tighten the screws. I am puzzled by the comment about the cupboard door in the bathroom not closing because it does close . The facilities are as stated in the details provided by Sykes so I feel it is a little unfair to down grade me by so much when the facilities are “as stated “ I am very sorry that the bathroom handle came loose but it does not mean the whole cottage is badly maintained. Kind Regards Amanda Property Owner

It was only when we got inside it said cosy cottage.. A very pre try cottage, but needs to have the proper address so it can be found easily.

Thank you for staying at Cosy Cottage, I did email you the week before your stay, as you requested on 29th January that nearer the time could I send you the full address so you could put it in your Satnav and where to collect the keys from. This information is also in the information sent to you by Sykes. I included in the email that the cottage is 100 High Street and the full addressI I also said that the door to the cottage is now blue with no 100 on it. I am at a loss to know how the information given to you twice could have been any clearer. Property Owner

We were welcomed by delicious chocolate cake and thankfully a pint of milk and teabags for that initial all important cup of tea on arrival. The decoration and equipment was very well thought out. Lovely well kept and friendly little village with walks from the door and not far away from shops and all amenities. Wonderful area for a break. We visited Staithes, Whitby, Cleveland Way walks, the Gate house to the old castle on the hill and the lovely old church and the nearby reservoir walks. Our Jack Russell soon settled in the college and enjoyed a few of the dog treats left by the owner. The owner sent us a friendly introductory email prior to our holiday which was a lovely thoughtful touch from, i am sure, a very busy person.

Very nice and quiet for 2 3 at a push Over the week we reduced the heating as the cottage was too warm with all heaters on if had been staying longer would have solely relied on wood burner rather than both storage heaters snd wood burner But otherwise very lovely place could hear the weather was blowing quite a bit outside but didn’t affect our stay at all it felt “cosy” shut curtains and forget outside

With the shower over the bath it made it difficult for my partner to access it safely. A small hand rail would of been great. Going down the stairs too.....a couple of small hand rails would be ideal....other that that it was very cosy

Dear Mr Charlton, Thank you for your customer feed back, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Cosy Cottage. The details do clearly state that the shower is above the bath, therefore my cottage was perhaps not suitable for you to book if your partner has limited mobility. The Log burner was laid up ready to light, we did not need to use but did light on the one evening we stayed in. Full instructions on how to use everything in a folder and an interesting visitors book which was fun to read. People in the village were very friendly and we ate in both pubs and the Rusty Bike cafe. Our only complaint is that the bed is not very comfortable with a very soft mattress which did not suit me and also used to a king size but do understand in a cottage a normal double is correct for the room size. So not really a complaint just my preference..
