  • "We cannot fault the property."

It was a fantastic place to stay. We asked for help with a few things by email and by phone in the run up to our stay and didn’t receive any response from yourselves which is not acceptable.

  • "A very relaxing holiday home with excellent facilities."

We really enjoyed the pool which is a good length for an indoor pool. Cleaning products left for our use in the kitchen and bathrooms were very much appreciated and we especially enjoyed the Prosecco and chocolates. We will definitely be returning.

  • "The old barn has everything a family could ever need or want."

Beautiful location it’s rural and peaceful, though as a working farm, there will be some noise from sheep and tractors, but that didn’t bother us at all. The swimming pool was a gift for the teenagers (15 to 18 y.o.). They loved it and made a pleasant change not seeing them head down looking at their mobile phones. 3 things to note, internet connection is going to be weak at times with poor signal/reception so factor that in, the location is rural so no popping to the shop for a loaf of bread or milk (though it was a lovely surprise to receive welcome eggs, milk, box of chocs and Prosecco). Lastly, as a farm, there are more flies that you would see normally which was a pity as we had good weather and it made me think twice about opening windows and french doors. Overall though, would I go back? 100% yes. Beautiful old barn we had a relaxing week reading, playing board games or spending the evening just talking to one another. During the day off to places such as Whitby, York and Filey etc. lovely!

  • "Fantastic holiday home."

Really well equipt and comfortable with superb facilities. Location is remote so there's no popping out for milk but it's very peaceful.

Everything thought of, we enjoyed the pool and the tennis courts immensely. The old barn was huge and gave us plenty of space to relax. Very clean.

  • "Accommodation was spacious, very clean, and well equipped."

The children enjoyed the swimming pool. Overall a great place to stay. The only downside was the flies. Spent a lot of time swatting flies despite the anti-fly device that was working in the main room.

  • "What a wonderful week at The Old Barn."

Facilities were second to none, with well equipped kitchen, everything you needed and more. The living and dining areas were extremely spacious for 8 with great furnishings. The swimming pool area was immaculate and we used it daily. We will definitely look to return in the future. Fabulous for a stay at home vacation after lockdown.

  • "Average quality of lighting in bedroom upstairs looking to rear of property, the mirror light in bathroom did not work making shaving awkward, would have liked a wardrobe in this bedroom."

These are minor issues and did not detract from a very enjoyable stay.

  • "We have been to many 4/5 star properties over the years and this place has topped them all!"

From the moment we walked in we were amazed. The size of the rooms were excellent, the cleanliness of the property was amazing (other places I have needed to clean before we could upack), a well thought out food hamper was left by the owners which was greatly received, the kitchen utensils and crockery were immense (everything you can thing of was available) and comfy furniture and beds. The swimming pool was divided up into sessions per property because of social distancing which worked really well. There were communal times available if you wished to go then too. We will definitely return as we so loved our stay with you.

  • "Obviously, we were disappointed that we couldn’t use the games room but really appreciated that we could use the swimming pool which was an excellent facility."

The accommodation is spacious and well-equipped and we had a very enjoyable stay. There was rather a lot of flies in one of the downstairs bedrooms but we managed to control them more with keeping the door shut and using a fly swatter. Perhaps something needs to be placed outside to detract them; my daughter has some sort of planter which does the trick.

The Old Barn was superb - as was the tennis court, games room/den and the swimming pool. Everything presented so tastefully and with real quality and style. Great space and comfort in the Barn - we have recommended to loads of friends and we'll be back!

A really generous size and well equipped. The pool and games rooms are great and well used by us, as was the tennis court. Everything was provided that we needed and the drove to the great beach at Hunmanby Gap (much better than Filey beach in our view) is just 20 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay at East gate farm.

  • "We stayed at The Old Barn after being let down by the collapse of Monarch."

The group consisted of two families totalling 6 people and were looking for all the things we would have had whilst on our original booked holiday - the feeling of luxury and, very importantly, a pool. This holiday had it all. It was superb. On arriving we were greeted with a welcome basket of different items of local groceries. The Old Barn was extremely clean and tidy and had everything we would need; if were intending to cook....NOT!...we were on our hols. We still talk now of how lucky we were to find this as a last minute holiday and are intending to return. All cottages are beautiful and all different. Would be a fabulous place for a large family get together. A great holiday!!!

  • "Our stay at The Old Barn was perfect - plenty of space for our extended family."

The children absolutely loved the swimming pool which is a real bonus. All of the facilities are to such a high standard. There is also plenty to do locally without driving too far - from the beach at Filey to fish and chips in Whitby. The hamper on arrival is one of the best we have ever had when staying in cottages. Thank you.
