  • "Great stay at the new inn apartment in a lovely quiet village."

The apartment is very clean, comfortable and has everything you need to hand. Had slight issue with radiators not working to full capacity but easy maintenance fix. And I have mobility issues at the moment with my legs so found the steep staircase a little tricky but manageable. The decor is modern and very tasteful and a very comfy bed and roomy walk in shower. Plenty of shops nearby. The pub does great stone fired pizzas and Dionne and Cameron are very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

  • "A lovely comfy apartment and would have been perfect if it wasn't for the noise downstairs!"

From 5:45 every evening until 10:45 all we could hear was the constant thumping of music in the bar/restaurant below. Walls were very thin and you can hear people talking above the music. I contacted the owner, who said it was just the background music in the bar, he turned it down that night eventually, but within a day it was back to thumping again. We turned the tv up but it was no good. Such a shame really, a little more thought for renters or some soundproofing would have made this the ideal place to stay.

  • "A lovely, spacious apartment."

Exactly as listed and very comfortable. There is a private entrance to the apartment, (with a fairly steep staircase to the apartment, so would suggest not practical for those with mobility issues). The pub below is closed a few days, but when open, there were no issues with noise. A very good apartment, we enjoyed our time there, and we will definitely go there again.

It was lovely and warm and the bed very comfortable. Lovely welcoming bottle of wine and tea and milk. Great recliners for watching TV and nice big table to eat at. Lots of storage and plenty of hangers. Good shower and nice big towels. Good parking. A few niggles: a mirror in the bedroom near the socket would have been useful. The shower is quite high so no option not to have water on your head. The kettle needs descaling. None of these would prevent my return though.

  • "This is a lovely cottage/apartment in a country village overlooking the village green and duck pond."

We really enjoyed our 11 day stay here and it was a real tonic for us. The bed is very comfortable, as were the sofas. The sofas even had power recline, and USB sockets for plugging in devices which for me was a god send because my iPhone battery was failing. We were working through the day and the internet was sometimes a bit hit and miss whilst on Teams meetings but for everyday personal usage it was totally fine so don't let that put you off. All in all a great little place and if you are wanting somewhere to stay in this area look no further; especially as there is a good pub right downstairs!

  • "The apartment was spotless and so comfortable with high end furniture and equipment … the recliner chair and sofa with USB ports are a dream … I’ll be looking out for those next time I need a new sofa at home!"

The pub downstairs serves very good food 5 days a week, so no need to cook much if you don’t want to, but if you do the kitchen is pretty well equipped. The Wi-fi is not the best - it’s on the the pub’s open network, so not secure. We found that our device security had real problems with this and kept cutting us out. We would have liked a Hoover or dustpan and brush to be able to cleanup at the end, but judging by how pristine it was when we arrived, it is well cleaned between lets. The apartment is a good base for exploring. There are a number of NT properties within a half hour drive and some beautiful market towns and villages … and of course York. If you wish to stay in there are delightful views of the village green and pond from both the sitting room and the bedroom. It was cosy and spacious at the same time. We recommend this apartment.

  • "The apartment was spotless on arrival."

Prior to our stay we had booked a table online for the pub but this was cancelled due to an error with the system. They had an outside catering contract. I wasn't particularly happy at this news as we had selected this accommodation for its attachment to a very good pub with food which meant we didn't have to drive everywhere. When we arrived not only did we have a lovely welcome pack of wine and snacks but by way of apology provided a gift card to put towards a meal later in the week. The bed is super comfy and there is plenty of storage for clothes. Nice double shower. Comfy recliner sofas and having a smart TV to access netflix was great. Good location for exploring York and Harrogate and the coast. Lovely quiet village overlooking the duck pond. It's definitely a great place to stay for a couple

The apartment is in a great position to explore York (park and ride is an easy distance away) and the surrounding countryside - including Sutton Bank where we managed to hire some e-bikes for a fabulous ride. The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable. It's above the pub (there is a little pub noise but nothing serious) which is a great bolt hole at the end of a day walking and riding. Great food and a lovely atmosphere. The owners/landlords are super friendly and on-hand for any questions/help. All in all a great week!

We were made to feel so welcome by everyone, the lovely staff and the locals, our hosts were wonderful and amazing cooks, we ate at the pub almost every night it was that good! Nothing was too much trouble, I cannot rate them highly enough. We shall definitely be back, its too good not to! Set in a beautiful, peaceful village which is an ideal base to visit many of the lovely places all around it within easy reach.
