“It was lovely to be greeted with fresh flowers. The sitting area was very comfortable and cosy. We found the mattresses to be very comfortable to sleep on. The general cleanliness of the cottage was very good. We feel there are some issues which could be improved: The pillows provided were not comfortable and on closer inspection they were very dirty and stained. The duvet in the master bedroom was also old and in need of being replaced. The wardrobes and drawers in the rooms are not suitable for putting clothes in as they smell musty and made clothes smell musty too. There is a clothes line but it is located where the pigeons assemble and therefore the line is covered in bird poo. Plus it is in the shaded area and we feel it would be more useful to have a clothes horse which could be placed indoors or outdoors when the sun is shining. There were clear instructions how to use the top stove but we would have also liked instructions how to use the oven as the markings on the knobs are worn.”
