We were; entertained one morning by the farmer herding his sheep past the cottage into the pens helped by his sheep dogs. We loved being in the middle of the countryside and the owners were lovely to chat to. We would certainly go there again.

It is a perfect hide-a-way. The cottage is so well equipped and very comfortable and we loved the “sheep theme” throughout. We walked from the cottage along the River Esk amongst grazing sheep. It was peaceful and idyllic. Many thanks to our hosts Helen, Paul and Rachal for being so friendly and welcoming. Our holiday was perfect.

  • "A lovely little cottage, very recently transformed from an old farm building so everything is very new and high quality with lots of extra little touches, toiletries, little pots of jam etc."

The owners were very helpful, they live alongside so available to help if needed but otherwise you are not aware they are there. Another review raises concerns about the road in to the cottage. For anyone who has driven on the country lanes of Cornwall the road will feel spacious, in many places there are good verges, wider sections or field entrances where you could pass. Additionally in the whole week I was there, once I turned off the main road I didn’t ever see another vehicle so I suspect you would be very unfortunate to have any difficulty in getting in and out. Thank you to the owners, I went seeking peace and quiet in a stunning setting and found it in abundance. I’d return in an instant.

Thank you for your lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Excellent renovation of what was basically a stone-built shed."

Perfectly adequate for a couple, and has all that’s needed for a comfortable stay. The owners were very nice. However the access road is a nightmare. The difficulty of getting to and from the cottage completely spoilt the experience, and anyone booking really needs to be aware of the challenging nature of the drive from the main road to the property which is between one and two miles long, generally narrow with few passing points, steep in places and would be especially tricky in a small vehicle. Nice property, nice owners, shame about the access.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review & your lovely comments about the cottage. We are sorry to hear you found the access roads challenging, however you are our first guests who have found this, you will note from previous reviews it has never been challenging to other guests. They are all council roads & used by both small vehicles through to large wagons on a daily basis without problem. Helen & Paul (Owners) Property Owner
