  • "Two of the three toilets were broke on arrival, had to request the code to enter the property at 4 pm as we’re waiting and hadn’t received it."

There wasn’t a shower on the top floor of the property and was only informed about this after we had been there for an hour. So we had 10 people sharing 1 toilet and 2 showers not ideal to say the least!! Great location very clean and tidy on a good note

Dear Joseph, thank you for your feedback. We can only sincerely apologise for the top floor bathroom shower being out of use. Unfortunately, we only discovered the damaged shower whilst the property was being cleaned on the day of your arrival. As you can appreciate, despite our best efforts, it was impossible to buy a new shower and get it fitted by a plumber on that day. However, there were two other showers and a bath (with shower facility) that were in working order. With regard to your claim of two toilets being broken; I am not quite sure what you are referring to. There are four toilets at the property; three inside and one outside, in the yard. I personally clean, prepare and maintain the property, and I can categorically state that every toilet was in perfect working order when I left the property before your arrival. As was the case with the top floor shower, I would have informed you of any further issues. Having returned to clean and prepare the property (the day you left), I have inspected all of the toilets and discovered that the outside toilet has had the flush handle snapped off. All of the other three toilets inside the property were working normally. The code for the key safe is listed in the property information provided to you from Sykes. Occasionally, the lead booker does not pass this information on to the other guests and we are happy to provide it when requested. We are pleased you enjoyed the location and found the property clean and tidy. Kindest regards Robert Property Owner

  • "A toilet inside on the ground floor would be useful."

More information about emptying the bins would be useful. What bins on what days etc. All those I spoke with or met regarding the booking were helpful and considerate at all times.

  • "Lovely house in a great location."

Everything was provided, spacious and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable and homely with a lovely gesture of a welcome pack. The beds were really comfortable and plenty of space for all our party. Great to have a changing room with toilet outside available when using the hot tub and an enclosed area for our dog to use safely. Everything had been thought of. We would definitely recommend Allium House as we couldn't have asked for more, perfect.

It's a well kept property with all the essentials you could want for your holiday. The beds were comfortable, plenty of crockery and cutlery and a lovely welcome pack! The hot tub was a great added bonus!

  • "Due to covid our New Year break didn’t go as planned so we had a couple of issues with Sykes and various misunderstandings which wasn’t great."

We didn’t get the parking permits as promised which also caused problems. The property itself was lovely and clean and location was good too however, if there was a rating for value we would not give full stars. Our party thought the accommodation was over priced. I think property owners and agents should really look at their prices if they want to encourage people to continue doing staycations and returning to properties. For this reason we would not be returning.

  • "The property was immaculate."

The decor was beautiful. We have stayed in a few self catering properties, I’ve learnt to bring my own things as there is never enough- this is the first time we didn’t need them. It was such a well stocked kitchen. The property was spacious, we had a range of ages (6yrs to 51yrs) and everyone loved it.

  • "Great location, spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated."

We loved the little extra touches such as the welcome tray and the robes and slippers which added a real touch of luxury. Although the outdoor area is small, the plants and lighting give it a courtyard vibe which combined with the hot tub make it a great place to relax. The owner was very helpful.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our week."

Allium house is perfectly situated for exploring Whitby itself, with all amenities to hand. Parking can be a problem given how central it is, but having the parking permit means you can use the in street parking near to the property.

  • "Just a couple of things that were an issue."

The waste bins which were very close to the hot tub did smell quite bad from day one. Maybe something for the owners to look into. Also scaffolding was up at the front of the property and that stopped Sky dish working. Not a major issue but annoying. Particularly with England playing in the Euros. Neither issue spoiled our holiday to any great extent. We had a great time in a great property.

  • "House was amazing."

In description it didn’t mention there was a freezer just a fridge which would be helpful. The hot tub was lovely and clean but you are not allowed in after 10.00pm but you wouldn’t know this unless you read the blue folder. The wifi password is on the back of the sky router on the hall table. Our family had an amazing time. The location was quiet but central to Whitby. Nearly got caught out with car park permit as only for 4 days and not 7. Overall we would stay again. Amanda the owner was very helpful.
