“Foresters house is a lovely cottage, perfectly situated in Whitby.”

The only minor problem we encountered was there was no drying facilities for clothes, and parking is a bit of a nightmare, but neither of these would prevent me from returning to the house.

The rooms are tastefully decorated to create a tranquil feel, with smart roman blinds and cosy carpets. The house shower room has a corner shower, basin and WC. Whitby’s iconic Abbey and St Mary’s Church are in the immediate vicinity.

Meander over the swing bridge into the harbour and take a coastal cruise to see Whitby a different way.

The pretty fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay are within easy reach.

A steam train ride from Whitby to Grosmont across the stunning North York Moors is a must.
