The property

Kape Cottage is a characterful Georgian property with many original features including beamed ceilings.

For families or couples wishing to explore Whitby, the location could not be better – the harbour, beach and amenities are all within easy walking distance.

The property is in a quiet residential street in the West Cliff area.

The cottage boasts a courtyard garden as well as some lovely sea, harbour and Abbey views.

Enter this charming house and to the left is a spacious kitchen with dining area – there’s plenty of room for everyone at the table.

Enjoy a delicious meal together, or perhaps have fun playing a game. An adjoining utility room has a washing machine and access to the enclosed courtyard garden – the views across the harbour towards the ‘old town’ and out to sea are so relaxing, as is the fresh sea air and sound of gulls wheeling overhead.

Steps lead up to a generous open-plan sitting room, again, with views towards East Cliff and comfortable seating to relax into at the end of the day; it also has a TV, DVD, music system and gas woodburning-style stove. Each of the two upper floors has a double bedroom, one with an en-suite shower room, the other with a bath.

Be sure to pause a moment and admire the superb views towards the harbour and sea as you open the curtains on a morning – a great way to start the day! This cottage has the advantage of a covered outside space for al fresco dining or to just sit back and enjoy good conversation with your loved ones.

There’ll be plenty to talk about from your days spent exploring. Whitby’s iconic Abbey is a must for any visit to this historic town.

Climb the ‘199 steps’ and be rewarded with stunning views over the harbour and out to sea.

Afterwards, meander through the cobbled streets of the ‘old town’, pausing for a lovely cup of Yorkshire tea in one of the quaint tea rooms.

For more serious walking, head over to Filey for five miles of glorious uninterrupted beach or follow the Cinder Track, the former railway line, on a walk to Robin Hood’s Bay. Kape Cottage is a comfortable base to call home whilst discovering wonderful North Yorkshire.
