The property

Charming one-bedroom cottage in central Whitby, minutes from the town’s bustling waterfront with its award-winning restaurants and delightful harbour. This spotless cottage is peacefully located in a quiet courtyard, making it the perfect escape for couples who are seeking a romantic bolt-hole by the sea. There’s even a chilled prosecco and chocolates on arrival to make your stay extra-special! The ground floor is open plan and guests will feel immediately at home in the comfortable sitting area – put your feet up and relax on the settee, there’s a TV with Freeview or WiFi for catching up online.

Take your time over a lazy breakfast at the cute dining table.

The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up dinner for the nights when you choose to dine in, or order a take-away – it’s your holiday, after all! The décor is gorgeous throughout – a lovely palette of creams, duck egg blues and soft greens inspired by the sea and beach. Head upstairs to your king-size bedroom and sink into crisp white bed linen – expect a good night’s sleep in the comfortable bed.

The bedroom overlooks a quiet courtyard.

There’s two built-in wardrobes with hanging space and shelves. From the bedroom, stairs lead to a good-size bathroom – tiled and panelled throughout, the space is light-filled and tranquil for a nice, long soak after days spent exploring the beach. Moving outside, there’s a pretty area with a bench and plants to sit and enjoy your morning cuppa or drinks in the evening. Seashell Cottage is perfectly situated to discover Whitby’s many sights, including its historic Abbey, sandy beaches, quaint ‘old town’ and lively harbour.

Whether you fancy a glass of champagne in a contemporary wine bar followed by award-winning seafood, or a charming afternoon tea with a classic Yorkshire brew, you’ll be spoilt for choice in gastronomic Whitby. Further afield, the heritage steam locomotives run from Whitby across the North Yorkshire Moors to Grosmont and Pickering – how romantic!

The heather-clad moors are simply breathtaking in summer and early autumn. A stay at Seashell Cottage is a welcome retreat at any time of year – a wonderful base for couples who love having everything on their doorstep.
