  • "Hi the flat was lovely and clean and in a nice area."

Enjoyed our stay two elephants would have been good so both of us could put our feet up . This was a last minute booking and was a bit stressed about it all not the owner’s fault or the Sykes company. Loved the fact we could get Netflix on the smart tv. Missed not having a washing machine as we travel light . And also was hoping to sit outside in a garden or patio as we aren’t really into sitting outside a noisy pub or bar. But sadly there wasn’t one. I don’t know who was in the flat below but they were a smoker and the entrance smelled awful of cigarettes and a disgusting pot of cigarette butts were sat in the gateway. We are none smokers with asthma so that wasn’t pleasant. Nice area though and apart from the steps down and up Whitby is hilly the flat was in a nice area with captain cooks statue around the corner

Thank you for your feedback. So glad that you liked the flat, we do take pride in the cleaning and ensuring everything is as we would want it. As you say we don’t have a washing machine or an outside garden or patio, but there again, in the property listing, we don’t claim to have those things. If they are important to you then it may be worth researching the next property you book in a little more detail beforehand to ensure it meets your needs. With regards to the smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby, we do apologise for this. I suspect this probably blew in from outside as the whole building is, in fact, no smoking with smoke detectors in all the flats. Unfortunately we’re not able to dictate the smoking habits of the other occupants of the building. We’re pleased that you enjoyed being able to watch Netflix! The smart TV also has Amazon Prime available, as well as a host of other live and catch-up TV options. Property Owner

  • "Nothing but good things to say."

The place was highly maintained and clean, nice little touches in the kids room ( bunkbeds, bean bag and lamp) the kids had a great time staying in this room, every utensil you can think of in the kitchen and lots of little finishing touches around the flat which made the stay ideal. The location aswell was just fab, literally 5 minutes to the centre and harbour. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Thanks so much xx

Excellent location. We used the coastal bus service to get around which meant we didn’t use the car all week, bliss!
