  • "The host was extremely friendly and helpful, calling me a few days before to go through loads of useful information which we used during our stay."

Can recommend a day to Robin Hood’s Bay, beautiful little village a few minutes away. Lovely property, very clean and well equipped. Had a great time thank you!

  • "The apartment was fantastic."

You had everything you could possibly need. Being on the larger side myself the towels could have done with being a big bigger but other than that my stay was great.

  • "Lovely flat located on the west cliff, good points, nice comfortable flat with a lovely welcome pack and Prosecco, bad points, kept awake by drum and base music playing till 1."

30 am on the first night and 1 am on the second night by noise from the flat above, previous guests had suffered with the drum and bass music till 4 am! Owner is aware of the noise problems but can’t control Neighbouring flats, many guests have had a nice stay but if you are unlucky to stay when the music is playing it is not a nice experience, with this we would not stay again

We are sorry for the disruption, it was Goth weekend and there are functions in the Ballroom below although we are surprised they lasted that long. Unfortunately there are 40 apartments in the building and on the whole people are respectful of others unfortunately there are isolated incidents which we cannot control and the majority of our guests have not been disturbed as you can see from most of the positive reviews. The function room is referred to in our particulars and there are occasional events in there Property Owner

  • "We stayed at the Getaway in August 21."

Information about the property was very good and the owner got in touch with us before our arrival to check that we had everything we needed - nice touch. The property is well situated in Whitby and is a nice place to stay. Access to the property is good, with a lift to get to 1st floor (ideal for our disabled son). The property is comfortable and facilities are good too. We stayed for 1 week with our two children and we had a great time. Thank you!

  • "It was a great stay in a great apartment with spectacular views of the beach from outside the Metropole."

The location was fabulous and away from the really busy part of Whitby but not too far to walk easily to it.The only downside was the noise from one of the other apartments we think during the last evening. The music was repetitive rave type and played very loudly on the third night of our stay. This was from midnight until 4am. We had a young very well behaved puppy with us and it upset his sleep which made it especially worrying and uncomfortable.

  • "We spent a lovely week at The Getaway, a beautifully presented apartment with everything you need."

Whilst the entrance and the hallway of the actual building are rather dated the apartment is modern, light and airy, lovely high ceilings and a fantastic shower. The beds were very are comfy and the temperature kept perfectly in a rather windy and chilly October! Parking was easy and we managed to park, on the road, virtually at the entrance each day. The Getaway is perfectly situated on the front and in very easy walking distance of Whitby town, the perfect place for a lovely relaxing break.

  • "We were very happy with our apartment, it was central to all amenities and the owners left us enough parking cards to cover our stay."

I would recommend it to friends and family. We are always satisfied with the properties we have had through your company and will continue to use you in the future .

  • "The only thing I feel needs to be address with the cleaners would be the bedding."

I’m not 100% positive the bunk bed had clean sheets as found hairs on both beds when pulled the duvets back. Otherwise the flat is stunning, location is just perfect. The owners supported when we had an issue on arrival with the keys and rang a few days prior with all the information needed. Beautiful flat in my favourite place in the world. Will 100% be returning!

I raised the question of the bedding with the cleaning company who reassured me that ALL bedding is changed but they apologise that hairs were found and will check carefully in the future. So glad you enjoyed your stay.Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely cosy warm apartment."

We had the apartment for the month of February which is the longest we have ever booked for anywhere before. Really bright and clean and a good selection of kitchen items. The large TV and sky was appreciated making it feel like you were in your own home. The beds are super comfy so a good nights sleep had by all. The shower has recently been upgraded and was great, could have spent hours in it. I note the previous review about the noise from other apartments. We were not disturbed at all during the whole stay by any of the other residents, in fact we hardly saw a soul the whole time. Would not have any hesitation is staying again.

  • "The flat itself was lovely however I wasn't aware that the block had permanent residence so the noise was awful, kids running around upstairs from 7am so no lie in there and music pumping from downstairs until 1am so imagine what sleep we had, awful experience."

  • "The Getaway is a real home from home."

It is spacious and has all the mod cons you could need for an enjoyable break. The bed was super comfortable and we were asleep in minutes. As we don’t watch tv a big lot, one item I would suggest to replace is the radio with one with a decent station display, otherwise no complaints. Jim and Kath

  • "Visited Whitby for the Motown weekend which was at The Pavillion."

Location of the accommodation was perfect for us as it was a short walk there and back both evenings. Apartment was very clean and well equipped. The Metropole is a very old and impressive building with a quirky old lift - but in contrast the apartment is extremely modern and light. We had a great weekend and would recommend the apartment. We would also reccommend Cranberry Swamp which is a short walk away does lovely brunch in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

It looks great in the photos but it’s actually even better in the flesh. Within a stones throw from the beach and a short walk from the town, we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend The Getaway, in fact I already have done!

  • "We had a great time and the place was lovely."

The only problem we had was the bathroom. The sink was a little loose and the shower was really close to the sink. We had to squeeze past the sink to get in to the shower. The shower was a little cramped but we are a little bit on the large size. The shower is not very powerful and was a little complicated to get working. You would benefit from changing the shower to a walk-in one that is the width of the bathroom. We would definitely stay again as the location is really good and it was value for money. Thank you very much for the prosecco, it was a lovely touch. I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. We take on board the comments regarding the shower which we intend to replace later in the year. Property Owner
