The location could not be better , go to the end of the street , turn left and you are facing a great outdoor cafe looking out to sea and walk down the winding path you are in a beautiful clean beach, Turn right at the end of the street and you are 4 minutes away from the town centre with plenty of little independent shops. We met the owner who was very pleasant , so all in all if you are looking to visit Whitby the Hideaway will not disappoint .

rang owner and was informed their tenants above us had problem with the washer. No body came to check things for us. Lots of noise from above tenants for entire holiday. Lots of dust and cobwebs everywhere. I dusted and cleaned every where except for bathroom light fitting, wonder if cobwebs still on it. I had to buy refuse bags and cleaning products. End of sofa was wet and stain on carpet, think someone had tried to clean it before we arrived. Would not stay there again. However this has not put us of using Sykes in fact we have another break booked in April and also looking for somewhere else on the way home.

  • "There was a bad smell of drains in the bathroom and sometimes in other parts of the flat."

The sofa is very uncomfortable, the bed is too hard and the quilt is too big and thick. Overall it is a lovely flat and perfectly situated but not really worth what we paid.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that overall you feel the flat is lovely and that you were happy to return to us following your stay last summer. We are however very sorry to hear about the smell of drains you had during your stay. We are investigating this although the smell was no longer present on changeover day. We would have done everything we could to deal with this during your stay if you had mentioned it to us when we chatted a few times during your stay. We are sorry you found the mattress to be too hard. It is a quality, medium mattress which seems to suit the majority of our guests but we understand this is a personal matter. Ironically we have only had two comments about the mattress, one saying it is too soft and you finding it too hard. We will replace the quilt (duvet) with a lower weight one for the summer months. We are also sorry to hear that you found the sofa to be very uncomfortable. This is the first time that any guest has mentioned this but of course we do understand this is a personal matter. We hope you found the smaller sofa or chair more comfortable. Thanks again for your feedback. Property Owner

Stuart was an excellent host, from the time we received the call to say the apartment was ready, to meeting us and directing us to the apartment. The apartment had everything we required. A welcome pack of milk, wine, biscuits and a selection of teas and coffee. The highlight was definitely the parking right outside the apartment. We used the car on 3 occasions only.
