I was disappointed by the fact that the dustbins were overflowing when we got there which is not a nice look plus made it limited to the amount of rubbish we could put out. I was concerned that seagulls /pigeons would peck at overflowing bags. The dishwasher had been left full of pits.

"A lovely Victorian terraced house with quite a few period features."
The only thing to let this property down was that the yard was very small which was not put in the particulars of the advert for the house. I suspected it would have just a small yard so it was not a surprise.
The house was very close to the town of Whitby so we walked to get where we wanted to get to in the close area.

"Nice clean place."
Accurately described. The only downside was we got a parking ticket for parking round the corner. There are no signs up warning you it is a disc system for residents. Not a great start to our little break but thankfully Scarborough council confirmed they would cancel it due to lack of signs. We did see signage in other parts of town but not around this address. Needs to be added to house details for other clients.

"The house we rented was very well furnished and presented."
I used to live in a mid terrace house and had forgotten how warm and comfortable they could be. Because of an aged parent's medical problems we had to change our dates at very short notice and return home three days early. The rental agency and the property owners were most helpful and we were offered and received a partial refund for the days we had to give up. Well done and thank you to all concerned. I would very strongly recommend this property and the letting agents .

The only negative comment we have is that the cottage would benefit from nets or something at the windows for a bit of privacy as it's a bit like sitting in a goldfish bowl when sitting in the lounge.

"Couldn't fault anything, my husband and I had a lovely time in Whitby."
The cottage was very well placed near to everything, five minutes walk in to the town. The cottage itself is very well presented, clean, cosy, comfortable with a log burner fire in the sitting room. Our dogs were able to have a potter in the small yard every morning before our walks. Very comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Lovely clean bathroom with an enormous bath and a great shower in the main bedroom. Parking is a bit tight around the area and on a first come first serve basis for all the residents, however we were able to park on the street at the back, opposite the house, so no trouble at all bringing the luggage in. It was in a very quiet location, apart from the noisy sea-gulls! Would totally recommend, we will visit again.

"The parking in this area was a potential problem at times due to the number of cars parked and the narrow streets - there was often no space available close to the house."
.This could be a bigger issue for less mobile people, as the property is also up quite a steep hill. Apart from this, we enjoyed our stay here very much and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone in a similar situation to ourselves. Lovely property - and perfectly suited to our needs.

"The property itself is well furnished, clean and well equipped."
The two sofas are extremely comfortable. The double bed is also very comfortable but the two singles need replacing. Bed linen and towels were very good. The main bedroom could do with some additional extension leads as the wall sockets are in awkward places. We were very impressed with the heating system - very efficient.
However, we were disappointed with the area itself and the VERY steep hill to the town. The outlook from the house was quite bleak, overlooking quite rundown houses and the backyard itself was very scruffy. We found the stairs in the house very steep and narrow and the two steps into the bathroom somewhat difficult to negotiate. The property description should highlight that it is not very suitable for anyone with any kind of mobility problem. After a day out, we certainly didn't look forward to going back to the house.
On the positive side, the steep climb to and from the property was definitely good for our fitness levels and the dealings we had with the owner were pleasant and cheerful.

"A single traveller, I found a clean and comfortable house, and the kitchen particularly was very well equipped even for dogs."
An efficient heating system, so lovely and warm in November, and the wifi was easy to get going. I would be very happy to stay there again.
There were minor snags so have this constructive criticism which could easily be resolved?
The keysafe box was very difficult to get into on arrival due to its position. I'm not 6' tall which would have made getting at it somewhat easier!
It's clear from the cottage photos that there's a shower in the bedroom (weird but ok for a week). What's not clear is that if I'd wanted to use the bath in the bathroom there was no bath plug, which may be a difficulty for people holidaying with children, and anyone using the twin room would have to shower in the double bedroom.
There's a good quality hairdryer available in the bedroom but (sadly in common with many holiday cottages) there's no mirror in a well lit position in easy reach of a plug to make using it, and hair straighteners, easy. A mirror fixed to the wall at the side of the double bedroom door would have sorted morning routines.
