  • “Unfortunately I would not book this ...”
Unfortunately I would not book this again my wife is disabled and the stairs were too steep. It should be mentioned that it’s not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties and mobility problems. On a plus side it was comfortable and clean.

The property

This lovely mid-terrace Victorian property is quietly tucked away from the main thoroughfare, yet only a five minute walk from the harbour in Whitby.

The house has retained some of its character features with original fireplaces and picture rails all adding to the charm.

The fully-equipped galley kitchen provides all the equipment and appliances required, whether you are preparing a delicious Whitby seafood platter or just serving a takeaway meal.

Following a day exploring this beautiful coastline or heading inland onto the glorious moors, the freestanding bath is a welcome sight followed by the comfy beds guaranteeing a good night's sleep.

Whitby is very atmospheric with its wonderfully evocative abbey standing guard above the town.

The town offers excellent independent shops, jewellers featuring the local fossilised Whitby Jet and quirky and traditional seaside ware.

Standing on the harbour watching the fishing boats return and then sampling their catch at one of a number of excellent seafood restaurants is especially rewarding.

Dalby Forest offers 8000-acres of woodland, beautiful scenery, rare birds, plants and wildlife.

The visitor centre provides lots of information about the forest together with a cafe serving snacks and meals.

One of the great train journeys in the UK is to board a steam train at Whitby and travel the route to Pickering amidst the dramatic scenery, hopping on and off at Goathland or Grosmont as the fancy takes you.

You can break your journey at these villages and appreciate the wild beauty around you.

Continue on to the attractive market town of Pickering and return by train in the buffet car for a delicious meal.

A delightful property whatever you choose to do.
