  • "Very nice house."

Perfect location. Would stay there again. Ideal for big families with babies and dogs!

  • "Great location and need to plan dropping off bags as it’s pedestrian only zone 10:30-4pm and traffic starting 8am which is noisy."

Shame we had to pay for parking at £10 per day. House is well maintained and everything you need for a great stay. Missed not having a bath as both bathrooms are shower only. Children enjoyed the top floor living space.

  • "On the day of arrival the refuse bin was overflowing with untied bags."

On a changeover day this should have been addressed. The rubbish was not collected until the following Wednesday, two days before departure therefore leaving nowhere to place our rubbish. No recycling bin provided. Did not help that we came back from a day out to find a property sharing the alleyway had dumped their untied bin bags literally on the doorstep. Agree with some other reviews regarding general cleanliness, in particular cobwebs around walls and ceilings, skirting boards grubby. Also totally in agreement regarding some windows that do not open with only one means of escape, ie the front door, which was swollen and let in quite a draft. On the upside, the heating worked well. The sofa in the living room incredibly uncomfortable. Seen better days, way too low and soft, may as well have been sitting on the floor so we had to bring in hard chairs from the kitchen. One thing that does need pointing out as this is not mentioned at all in the property description is the fact that the “kitchen” sink is not actually located in the kitchen, but in the utility room. This is accessed by three considerably steep steps which proved a problem for us as three of the party have difficulty with mobility. A hazard if you have to negotiate the steps with a boiling pan. Also, this was the first time we have stayed in Whitby and have not been provided with a parking permit.

  • "Property entrance unkempt very dirty."

Mouse spotted in alleyway. Dirty old suitcase and tables in alleyway. “Welcome” mat very dirty not very welcoming! No bin liners in bathroom bins. No mattress or pillow protectors. Oven and extractor fan covered in grease. Vacuum cleaner full and smelly. Smoke alarms going off when using oven as grease burning causing smoke. Offensive smell in 3rd floor bathroom. Beds very uncomfortable. Cracked plastic on front window. Makes property look very dirty and unkempt. Having to strip off bedding from beds. Not sure why this has to be done? Lighting where fridge is not working. Freezer needed defrosting. Stains on lounge carpet. Cobwebs in corners of rooms and in kitchen. Front door difficult to open. Overall very dissatisfied.

  • "Lovely well equipped property which was decorated up for our Christmas break - thank you."

We would highly recommend this property for a holiday. Lovely and warm as central heating was very good, good location, lots of space for the seven of us to relax in. The only gripe we had was that the mattresses were very uncomfortable.

The cottage could be really nice if they installed secondary glazing as the noise from the street is unbearable to enable sleep, also during summer the duvets need swapping for a lower tog, too hot and nothing to replace with, the ginnel was filthy and smelled, needs some tlc, ckeaning, a few planters in etc

  • "The property is very spacious and warm and great family accomadation."

It is nicely furnished with very comfortable beds ... Four toilets, one on each floor is very convenient. But...... There is no parking, it cost myself and my daughter £10 per 24 hrs to park in nearby car parks. There is no outside space. There is little ventilation, most of the windows do not open. The kitchen needs more equipment, eg, no chopping board, peeler, cleaning materials, serving dishes, mixing bowl, whisk, colander, place mats... There are no mirrors other than a small one in each bathroom. There is only one entrance, the front door, the property is over four floors,I was a little nervous about means of escape, though there were fire extinguishers.
