  • “Spacious, good supply of hot water, very dog friendly, fully enclosed garden, kitchen well equipped but not at all well lit.”

Steep walk into Whitby across busy road but we did find a helpful underpass. Bins full on arrival. No recycling bins provided inside. Lack of toilet rolls, shelving or cupboards in ensuite facilities. Good sized family bathroom. One mattress was so uncomfortable we had to ask for it to be replaced , which it was. A number of windows couldn’t be opened. Adequate but lacking in flair , design or personal touch.

Airy Hill Farm Cottages

These beautifully converted stone barns, are set on the edge of the bustling seaside town of Whitby, just over half a mile from the centre and are perfect for families wanting to enjoy the many attractions in this historic town and the stunning countryside of the North York Moors National Park. With spacious open plan living areas, they are bright and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows allowing plenty of light to flood in and doors opening onto small, private and sheltered patios. Tastefully furnished in a contemporary style, they have a touch of luxury, with travertine floors, Smeg appliances and comfortable leather sofas. With cosy woodburners, ideal for cool evenings, the cottages are warm and welcoming. Each property is slightly different, catering for all family needs, whether it be a ground floor bedroom or a walk-in shower. Next to the cottages is a public footpath, which leads into woodland and onto the Esk Valley Walk, whilst the nearby, disused railway, The Cinder Track, is ideal for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. A ten-minute walk brings you into the centre of this popular historic town, with a wide array of pubs, restaurants and independent shops.
