  • "We feel that mention should be made of the door heights throughout the property, really not suitable for anyone over 6 foot tall."

A pint of milk in the fridge on arrival would be a welcome addition, after a delayed and arduous train and bus journey it would have been good to have a cup of tea before setting off to the shops. The fridge needed defrosting, we couldn't open the ice box at all. That said, we enjoyed the quiet position of the cottage and our stay there.

  • "A fantastic property in the centre of Whitby but in a quiet courtyard."

Only one minor problem, which I'm sure will be sorted, the toilet sometimes needed to be pumped to flush properly. Apart from that the cottage is close to shops, take aways and pubs, literally seconds away.

  • "The Cottage was spot on for our needs, Ideally situated near all the shops and restaurants and contained in its own little yard."

Very quiet in the evening even though your so close to everything, car parks and supermarket just short walk away

  • "A fantastic cozy little cottage just at the right location."

Close enough to everything in Whitby but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Very convenient for shopping groceries and close to the (bus) station. It has everything you could ask for.

  • "In the last 20 years I`ve been in some beautiful holiday cottages, but this must be the most charming."

Its wonderful quirky, I loved the paneling and the courtyard with all the plant pots. Its quiet, but still only seconds from crowd and train station.

  • "Lovely place to stay."

Home from home. Lounge area lovely, had a slight issue but all sorted within hours,(very impressed) Kitchen well equipped, (could do with a new can opener, not working) but apart from that it was fabulous. Bedroom was lovely, bed very comfortable. Bathroom had amazing shower. Next level room (I only went up once) my son loved having his own space up there. Would stay again when we come back to Whitby.

  • "We had a lovely three-night stay."

The cottage is bursting with original character of its age; slightly wonky stairs, the old stove in the bedroom and tiny windows looking out on the square. It takes you back in time somewhat. The central location was really great, we based our days from the house and walked everywhere from there. The bed was really comfortable and we slept very well indeed! Parking was a mild inconvenience being a 1/2 mile walk away, and I had to do a few loops to find a suitable spot, but it was minor in relation to the positives. That said, I expect that if we had gone at a busier time of year, this could have been more of an issue, and for that reason alone, I would opt for parking included if we ever returned during peak time.

  • "We had a very enjoyable holiday in a lovely warm and spotless cottage."

The beds where very comfortable. And there was everything we needed inside. The cottage’s location was superb. Near all amenities. The only downside was the very steep staircase up to the third floor which I didn’t even attempt to climb. However I would recommend to others because of its location.

  • "Such a lovely place to stay in Whitby, ideally located between public transport and the town with beaches and Abbey, yet quiet."

I loved to be able to get out and about in the mornings to take pictures of sunrises if I wanted to without having to tackle the evening/party crowds and/or the waste collection if I wanted to sleep longer. The cottage itself offers everything one could need for a holiday. Even a small patio although I didn't use it because I was touring Whitby and the surrounding area so often. Thanks for making this one of my favourite holidays in a long time!

  • "Great location."

Lovely cottage in a very pretty square and just a short walk from anywhere in Whitby. Beds were hard (more a personal preference thing really), no parking but we were lucky and found something nearby. Shower was very slow to drain (needs a plunger) and one half of the toaster is broken. Sorry to be negative but these really were very small things and we loved our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We'll be sure to investigate the problems you reported and get them sorted as soon as possible. Really glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

  • "A private and cosy cottage in the centre of Whitby."

It was great for a cold weather stay although not so much for summer I think. Just because you might want a view, more of an outside space, etc. Beautifully decorated and a lovely quirky feel to the old place- uneven walls and floors. Your towels, being new, shed purple fluff everywhere :))

Thank you for the great feedback. Having stayed in the cottage ourselves over summer, before we bought it, we've always felt that the private yard offers a really nice peaceful sanctuary all year round while still being in the heart of the action. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful old cottage, sympathetically renovated to keep as many of the old features as possible."

It's in the centre of the action but a gated courtyard so no noise. Definitely would recommend.
