  • "We loved our stay at Explorers Rest , this is one of our favourite holiday properties in Whitby, staying there on three separate occasions in recent holidays is testament to that."

    The location is great, the underground parking is also such a bonus as Whitby gets very busy and has very limited parking. The holiday property is a luxurious property in all aspects, very comfortable and excellent facilities and always spotlessly clean. The owners always make our stay very welcome with a very generous welcome pack and much information on local restaurants, bars , cafes and places to visit as well as providing important contact numbers from taxis to medical assistance if ever required. Top notch holiday apartment in our apartment in lovely location right opposite Pannet Park yet only 5 - 10 minute walk into Whitby ctre.

  • "Wow! what an amazing place!"

    As a young couple on their first holiday together we really wanted a home from home and that's what we got. We were amazed with the cleanliness of the flat and how amazing it smelt. We were left with everything we could wish for and more. The welcome hamper and flowers was such a lovely touch. The location was perfect with a 5 minute walk from whitby and the train station, Whitby itself is beautiful with plenty of things to do, places to eat and drink. All in all would highly highly recommend to others!

    A lovely welcome basket and luxury toiletries was an unexpected bonus . Thankyou . The apartment block is an easy ten minute stroll into Whitby and with the added benefit of secure underground parking it was perfect for us . Everything that we needed for a really fantastic week , the apartment owners have really considered their guests and obviously take great pride in their property, it smelt gorgeous, was spotlessly clean , comfortable bed and beautifully furnished. I loved the chair by the window , lovely view . We loved Whitby , Pannett Park , a glass of wine and a beer in The Elsinore on our way home . The Magpie Cafe was superb . Goathland , York on the Park and Ride . Scarborough, Saltburn by the Sea , I could go on and on . Disappointed we hadn't booked two weeks . Will we return , absolutely

  • "We really enjoyed staying in this apartment."

    It was equipped with everything we could possibly need and spotlessly clean. The welcome hamper was very generous, the best we have ever received in a holiday property. There is just one issue we would like to raise. That is the constant noise, mainly in the bedroom, of what we assumed to be the immersion heater. I notice previous guests have commented on it in the guest book and they thought it was a ventilation system. We couldn't find any evidence of such a system or we would also have turned it off. We got used to it after a couple of days but it did keep us awake on the first night. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay and intend to book again when we next visit Whitby. Thank you. We are required to have this system installed as per our lease agreement. The system can be adjusted (low/high) via a switch outside the bathroom next to the door. We have, following your stay, contacted an electrician to see whether a lower flow/quieter system can be installed. The unit which is in place is the best available interms of noise.   • "The apartment was fantastic it had everything we needed plus more."

    The garage was a bonus , the car stayed inside all week. We used local buses and did loads of walking to and from town. Whitby was always a day visit for us but the week we had was lovely.
